The Uganda Communications Commission(UCC) is the government regulatory body of the communications sector in Uganda. Although owned by the Ugandan government, it acts independently. Its mandated responsibilities include licensing, regulation, communications infrastructure development and the expansion of rural communications service.

Rehema Nanfuka is a Ugandan film, theatre and television actress, director, and filmmaker known for her roles in Imani, Veronica's Wish, Imbabazi, The Girl in the Yellow Jumper, Queen of Katwe, and Imperial Blue, among other films.

She is known for her work on The Hostel, Rain, Beneath the Lies - The Series and Bed of Thorns as the director. She also owns a production company called Nabwiso Films which she set up together with her husband Matthew Nabwiso.
The Uganda Film Festival Award for Best Director, also known as Feature Film of the Year, is an award presented annually by Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) at the Uganda Film Festival Awards. Aisha "Lady Aisha" Kyomuhangi is a Ugandan actress, singer and producer. She has starred in numerous stage productions including Kigenya Agenya and is a member of Bakayimbira Dramactors, one of Uganda's oldest stage drama groups.
Stain is a Ugandan drama film produced and directed by Morris Mugisha. It premiered in Kampala on March 1, 2021, and was Mugisha's directorial debut. The film received 7 nominations at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in Nigeria and Joan Agaba won the award for Best Actress in a Leading role. The film also won 5 awards out of 12 nominations at the 2021 Uganda Film Festival Awards.
