The University of Washington is a public research university in Seattle, Washington. Founded in 1861, approximately a decade after the founding of Seattle, the University of Washington is one of the oldest universities on the West Coast of the United States.

The Duck Store is the bookstore for the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon, United States. PCC Community Markets is a food cooperative based in Seattle, Washington. With over 58,000 members, it is the largest consumer-owned food cooperative in the United States. Both members and non-members may shop at the retail locations, but members receive certain discounts. The organization currently operates fifteen retail locations. Eight of the fifteen stores are located in Seattle. The West Seattle location reopened on October 2, 2019. The Harvard/MIT Cooperative Society is a retail cooperative for the Harvard University and MIT campuses in Cambridge, Massachusetts. While the general public is able to shop, membership discounts and other benefits are restricted to Coop members. As of 2020, there are three store locations at Harvard, and two at MIT. The main store is located in the heart of Harvard Square, across the street from the Harvard subway station headhouse.
The University of Washington North Sound was a proposed new University of Washington branch campus that may be placed at one of two sites. The sites had to be north of Lynnwood and south of Arlington, and have good transportation access. The two proposed sites are in Smokey Point and in Everett.

Washington Technology University (WTU) was an American private university based in Bellevue, Washington. The school offered a bachelor's degree in information security targeted at local residents wanting to join the Seattle technology industry, and admitted its first class in January 2018. On October 22, 2021, the Washington Student Achievement Council denied Washington Technology University's (WTU) application for renewal of authorization to operate in Washington. WTU had been authorized to operate in Washington State since 2017, and offered one degree program at its campus in Bellevue, Washington. The school officially shut down July 29, 2022.
