Lloyd Harlin Polite Jr., better known by his mononym Lloyd, is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, dancer, and actor. Lloyd began his career in music as a member of the preteen-boy band N-Toon. The group disbanded in 2001 and Lloyd embarked on a solo career in 2003. He subsequently signed a recording contract with Murder Inc. Records and Def Jam Recordings. In 2004, Lloyd released his solo debut single "Southside", the title track of his debut album, Southside. The single features Ashanti, and it quickly charted on the US Billboard Hot 100, and became a Top 40 hit. His second album Street Love, was released on March 13, 2007. It featured the top-twenty hits "You" and "Get It Shawty".
The Dangerous Crew was an American hip hop band formed by Oakland, California rapper and producer Todd "Too Short" Shaw. The Dangerous Crew consisted of both live musicians and rappers: Stuart "Shorty B" Jordan, Ramone "Pee-Wee" Gooden, Anthony "Ant" Banks, Sean G, and rappers Too Short, Mhisani "Goldy" Miller, FM Blue, Dangerous Dame, Russell "Rappin' Ron" Royster, Ant Diddley Dog, Robert "Spice 1" Green Jr. and Damani "Father Dom" Khaleel. The Dangerous Crew also had an R&B group known as About Face, who appeared on a few of the later releases by Too Short.
Trap Muzik is the second studio album by the American rapper T.I., released on August 19, 2003, by Atlantic Records and his newly founded record label Grand Hustle Records. Due to the poor sales on T.I.'s first album, I'm Serious (2001), T.I. asked for a joint venture deal with Arista Records or to be released from his contract; he was subsequently dropped from the label. After signing with Eminem, 50 Cent also worked heavily with Dr. Dre, with the duo acting as the album's executive producers, who worked to combine the gangsta rap and R&B combo prevalent in New York hip hop. Additional production is provided by Mike Elizondo, Sha Money XL, Mr. Porter, Rockwilder, Dirty Swift, Megahertz, and more.
The Untouchable is the fourth studio album by American rapper Scarface. The album was released on March 11, 1997, by Rap-A-Lot Records and Noo Trybe Records. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart for the first time in his career with the album; in addition it peaked at the top of the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for two weeks, giving Scarface his second number one album there. The effort included the smash hit single, "Smile", featuring 2Pac, released shortly after the shooting deaths of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G. It peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is the only single released by Scarface to go Gold.
Funkdafied is the debut album by American rapper Da Brat. It was released on June 28, 1994, and sold over one million copies, making her the first solo female rapper to go Platinum. Funkdafied debuted and peaked at number 11 on the Billboard 200, and topped the Rap Charts and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The album was preceded by the first single, "Funkdafied", released on May 13, 1994. The single went Platinum in August and then the album went Platinum in January 1995.
Cocktails is the ninth studio album by American rapper Too Short. It was released on January 24, 1995 via Jive Records, making it his sixth album on the label. It is certified platinum and features performances by 2Pac, Ant Banks and The Dangerous Crew. Cocktails debuted at #6 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 101,000 copies in its first week, in all it sold over 1 million copies and was certified platinum by the Riaa. It was Too Short's second album to reach #1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, while missing the Top 5 by one position on the Billboard 200. The album was entirely produced by Ant Banks and aside from previous releases by the hip-hop band The Roots, Cocktails is the first album recorded and released by a solo rapper to feature all music performed by a live band.
You Nasty is the twelfth studio album by American rapper Too Short. It was released on September 12, 2000, via Jive Records, making it his ninth release on the label. Audio production was handled by Ant Banks, Erick Sermon, and Jazze Pha. You Nasty proved to be a success, peaking at #12 on the Billboard 200 and #4 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, as well as producing two charting singles, "2 Bitches" and "You Nasty", which peaked at #2 and #6 on the Hot Rap Singles respectively, It was certified Gold.

Loyalty and Betrayal is the sixth studio album by American rapper E-40, released October 10, 2000 on Jive and Sick Wid It Records. The album features production by Battlecat, Bosko, Jazze Pha, Rick Rock and Tone Capone. It peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and at number 18 on the Billboard 200.
