Urakara, often stylized as URAKARA, is a Japanese television drama series from TV Tokyo, first shown in Japan from 14 January 2011.
The drama revolves around five characters played by the members of popular South Korean girl group Kara. The members of Kara act as five girls (each with the same name as their real-life selves) who are given missions related to love. The drama is the Japanese acting debut for Kara, although they have previously made cameo appearances as a group in a couple of Korean dramas. Leader Park Gyuri and member Han Seung-yeon had child actress roles in several Korean television series prior to their singing debuts. "Urakara" has also been produced as part of Kara's popularity in Japan since their Japanese debut single "Mister" in 2010.[ citation needed ]

Kara was a South Korean pop girl group formed by DSP Media in 2007. The group's final lineup was composed of Gyuri, Seungyeon, Hara and Youngji. Members Nicole and Jiyoung officially departed from the group in 2014, while Sunghee left in 2008.

Goo Hara, also known mononymously as Hara, was a South Korean singer and actress. She was a member of the South Korean girl group Kara, and had also appeared in television dramas including City Hunter (2011). She made her debut as a soloist in July 2015 with the release of her EP Alohara . After Kara disbanded in 2016, she continued her solo career at another agency, KeyEast. Her solo career was interrupted in 2018 after she became embroiled in a legal case with her ex-boyfriend, Choi Jong-Bum, which was initiated when he assaulted Goo and threatened to release their sex video to harm her career. In June 2019, she continued her solo activities in Japan where she was well received by fans. Her last release was a maxi single "Midnight Queen", released on September 19, 2019.
Nicole Yongju Jung, referred to as Nicole, is a Korean-American singer. She is a former member of South Korean girl group Kara.

Karasia is the concert tour by Korean girl group Kara. This is their very first independent concert in Asia region. The first concert are scheduled at Seoul, South Korea starting mid-February. And at the same time, Kara will embark their very first Japan Nationwide concert starting at Yokohama, sharing the same tour name as their Asia tour. The tour was also planned to have dates in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and others, but this never came to fruition.
Puretty was a South Korean girl group formed by DSP Media. The group debuted in Japan in 2012 through the anime series Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future, where fictionalized versions of the members appeared as the secondary cast, and their songs, "Check it Love" and "Shuwa Shuwa Baby", were used as the series' ending theme songs. Despite plans for them to make their Korean debut, the group disbanded in January 2014, with DSP Media announcing the possibility of its members becoming part of other groups in the future.

Heo Young-ji, better known mononymously as Youngji, is a South Korean singer, dancer, entertainer and television personality. She is best known as a member of girl group Kara after winning the TV show Kara Project in 2014, which saw her become the newest member of the group. Heo began her solo music career in August 2017 with her first single, "Memory Clock".
Day & Night is the sixth extended play of the South Korean girl group Kara. It was released on August 18, 2014 with the song "Mamma Mia" as promotional single. It is the first album to feature Heo Youngji following the departure of members Nicole and Jiyoung earlier in the year.
