V.P. Seemandini is a designated Senior Advocate mainly practicing in Constitutional matters from 1976 in High Court of Kerala and Supreme Court of India. [1]
Seemandini is currently serving as the President of Kerala Federation of Women Lawyers [2] and was the President of All India Federation of Women Lawyers and founder member of the federation. [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] Seemandini was born in Thrissur district, Kerala, India. She enrolled as an advocate in 1976.She is mainly practicing in Constitutional matters. She is legal adviser to many of the educational institutions in Kerala and Bangalore. She was designated as the Senior Advocate of High Court of Kerala in 2006 . Seemandini is the secretary of Sree Narayana Sevika Samajam, a nursing home for the elderly and an orphanage and President of Sree Dharma Paripalana Yogam, Pachalam branch. [9]

Indira Jaising is an Indian lawyer and activist. Jaising also runs Lawyers' Collective, a non-governmental organization (NGO), the license of which was permanently cancelled by the Home Ministry for alleged violations of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act in 2019. The Bombay High Court later passed an order to de-freeze NGO's domestic accounts. The case is ongoing in the Supreme Court of India.
Pinarayi Vijayan is an Indian politician who is the current Chief Minister of Kerala, serving since 25 May 2016. A member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), he is the longest-serving secretary of the Kerala State Committee of the CPI(M) (1998–2015). He also served in the government of Kerala as Minister of Electric Power and Co-operatives from 1996 to 1998. Vijayan won a seat in the May 2016 Kerala Legislative Assembly election as the CPI(M) candidate for Dharmadom constituency and was selected as the leader of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and became the 12th Chief Minister of Kerala. He is the first chief minister from Kerala to be re-elected after completing a full term in office. In 2022, he also became the longest-continuous serving chief minister of Kerala surpassing C. Achutha Menon who had been the first to remain in office for 2364 consecutive days.
The Travancore royal family was the ruling house of the Kingdom of Travancore.The Travancore royal family signed a treaty with the British in 1788, thereby adopting British dominance. Later, in 1805, they revised the treaty, leading to a diminution of royal authority and the loss of political independence for Travancore. They had to give up their ruling rights over the common people in 1949 when Travancore were forced to merge with Independent India and their political pension privileges were abolished in 1971.
