Asturias, officially the Principality of Asturias, is an autonomous community in northwest Spain.
Gijón or Xixón is a city in north-western Spain. It is the largest city and municipality by population in the autonomous community of Asturias. It is located on the coast of the Cantabrian Sea in the Bay of Biscay, in the central-northern part of Asturias; it is approximately 24 km (15 mi) north-east of Oviedo, the capital of Asturias, and 26 km from Avilés. With a population of 271,780, Gijón is the 15th largest city in Spain.
Cangas de Onís is a municipality in the eastern part of the province and autonomous community of Asturias in the northwest of Spain. The capital of the municipality is also Cangas de Onís.
Woodford is a village in the south-east of County Galway, Ireland. The village's industrial history is indicated by its Irish Name, 'Gráig na Muilte Iarainn' means 'The Village of the Iron Mills.' Woodford is situated between the Shannon River and the Slieve Aughty mountains. It is probable that the village started as a place to house and provide services for the iron workers on the 17th century. The surrounding hills have iron ore deposits; the abundant oak woods were used as a fuel for smelting. These had a lasing effect on the landscape; as the furnaces needed up to one hectare of mature woodland per day.
Carrickmore is a village in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. It lies in the centre of the county on a raised site colloquially called "Carmen"; between Cookstown, Dungannon and Omagh. An alias name for Carrickmore village is Termon Rock, Termonn being the first element of the parish name Termonmaguirk and rock referring to the rocky hill on which the village is situated. The McGurks were erenaghs or hereditary lay custodians of the parish's church lands. The site of the former parish church is adjacent to the village of Carrickmore. It is situated in the historic barony of Omagh East and the civil parish of Termonmaguirk. It had a population of 612 in the 2001 Census. In the 2011 Census 2,330 people lived in the Termon Ward, which covers the Carrickmore and Creggan areas.
