Athletics at Valhalla High School include Basketball, Football, Tennis, Soccer, Volleyball, Wrestling, Track and Baseball. The Valhalla Vikings' championship titles include the 1996 New York State Football Championship, [7] the 2010 New York State Baseball Championship [8] and the 2019 New York State Volleyball Championship. [9]

Valhalla High School offers various student clubs, including the Academic Challenge Club, the Book Club, the Debate Club, the Environmental Club, the Human Rights Club, the National Honor Society and the World Language Honor Society. Valhalla's very popular Drama Society produces an annual fall drama and spring musical. [10] Recent productions include The Crucible, [11] It's a Wonderful Life [12] and Twelve Angry Jurors. [13]

Mahtomedi Senior High School is a four-year public high school located in Mahtomedi, Minnesota, United States. The school houses grades 9–12 with a total population of approximately 1,146 students. About 22% of this population are from surrounding districts due to open enrollment. The school colors are blue and gold, and the athletic teams are known as the Zephyrs. The district was created in 1870, and the original high school was built in 1930. In 1970 a new high school building was constructed several miles south east of the original building and this remains the current high school campus. Based on standardized test scores the State of Minnesota has awarded the school a five-star rating, the highest level that can be achieved. In 2006, Newsweek ranked the school #675 in its "List of the 1200 Top High Schools in America." The school has also made adequate yearly progress in compliance with No Child Left Behind standards. As of 2015 the school had a demographic of 91% Caucasian, 2% Black, 2% Asian, 2% Two or more races, 2% Hispanic or Latino, and 1% Native American. Finally, out of the total population, 9% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Mahtomedi competes in the Metro East Conference, having joined that conference at its inception in 2001 soon after being a founding member of the Metro Alliance in 1997. Prior to 1997, Mahtomedi was a member of the Tri-Metro Conference.

Little Rock Christian Academy is a private, college-preparatory Christian school serving PK3 through 12th grade. The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) is the governing body of interscholastic sports for most public schools in New York outside New York City. The organization was created in 1923, after a predecessor organization called the New York State Public High School Association of Basketball Leagues began in 1921 to bring consistency to eligibility rules and to conduct state tournaments. It consists of 768 member high schools from the state divided into 11 geographic sections. While as its name suggests the vast majority of its members are public, it does include a number of private and Catholic high schools. Most of these are located in Central New York and the Capital District, where parallel sanctioning bodies for private schools do not exist. It is a member of the National Federation of State High School Associations as well as the New York State Federation of Secondary School Athletic Associations.

Spackenkill High School is a 9-12 public high school part of the Spackenkill Union Free School District located in Poughkeepsie, New York, United States. In 2018, it was named a National Blue Ribbon School, one of 62 high schools nationwide to be so recognized that year by the U.S. Department of Education. In athletics, Spackenkill has won three state championships: baseball in 2005 and 2022 and boys soccer in 2007.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Section 1 (NYSPHSAA)</span> High school athletic league in New York

Section 1 is a high school athletic organization that is one of the eleven sections of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA). It is made up of high schools from around the southern portion of the Hudson Valley. The section offers "modified athletics" administration covering grades 7-9 middle school competition in area middle schools. Schools will sometimes compete with other schools outside of the section in tournaments or invitationals. The section is further divided into leagues based on mostly location but also the size of the school. The schools in the section compete with each other over the course of three seasons, fall, winter, and spring.
