Valleyview Towers are two apartment blocks in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada. The pair consists of a nine-storey building (Tower I) at 1101 99th Street and a ten-storey building (Tower II) at 1191 99th Street, operated for seniors housing by the Battlefords Housing Authority. [1]
Valleyview Tower II has been the subject of recurring complaints about safety and building conditions. In 2019, residents told local media that the building had seen an increase in disturbances, frequent police calls, and people passed out in common areas. [2] In 2021, a tenant succeeded in a claim before the Office of Residential Tenancies after reporting harassment, loud parties, and intoxicated individuals entering hallways, which the ruling described as creating “terror and trauma”. [3]
Other reports that year noted vandalism, second-hand smoke concerns, and elevator cleanliness issues. [4] Saskatchewan Housing said efforts to address complaints were underway, including increased security and building maintenance. [5] [6]
In 2025 a multiyear modernization program began including upgrades to fire-safety systems and accessibility, along with renovations to common areas. Tower II, historically used for seniors housing, was partially converted to family units as part of the project. [7] [8]
