Van Gogh National Park (Dutch: Van Gogh Nationaal Park) is a Dutch national park in the province of Noord-Brabant. The plan for the park was presented on 30 March 2021 [2] . On 14 October 2024 it received the actual National Park status. [3] .

The park would consist of several natural areas in the province of North Brabant, including De Loonse en Drunense Duinen National Park and Het Groene Woud. [4] The park is located between the cities of 's-Hertogenbosch, Helmond, Eindhoven, Tilburg and Breda. In addition to nature, the park is intended to promote cultural heritage, sustainability, as well as the local economy. [5]

The project is named after painter Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890), a native of North Brabant who worked and lived in a number of locations within the area it would cover. [6]

De Hoge Veluwe National Park is a Dutch national park in the province of Gelderland near the cities of Ede, Wageningen, Arnhem and Apeldoorn. It is approximately 55 km2 in area, consisting of heathlands, sand dunes, and woodlands. It is situated in the Veluwe, the area of the largest terminal moraine in the Netherlands. Most of the landscape of the park and the Veluwe was created during the last ice age. The alternating sand dune areas and heathlands may have been caused by human utilization of the surrounding lands. The park forms one of the largest continuous nature reserves in the Netherlands.

Brabants Dagblad is a daily Dutch newspaper. It is distributed in the center and northeast of North Brabant, in 's-Hertogenbosch and Tilburg and their surrounding regions. The paper's office is in 's-Hertogenbosch.

The Netherlands participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 1994 with the song "Waar is de zon" written by Edwin Schimscheimer and Coot van Doesburgh. The song was performed by Willeke Alberti, who was internally selected by the Dutch broadcaster Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS) to represent the Netherlands at the 1994 contest in Dublin, Ireland. Willeke Alberti's appointment as the Dutch representative was announced on 2 November 1993, while the national final Nationaal Songfestival 1994 was organised in order to select the song. Eight songs competed in the national final on 26 March 1994 where "Waar is de zon" was selected as the winning song following the votes from twelve regional juries.

The Netherlands participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 with the song "Out on My Own" written by Dirk-Jan Vermeij and André Remkes. The song was performed by Michelle. The Dutch broadcaster Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS) organised the national final Nationaal Songfestival 2001 in order to select the Dutch entry for the 2001 contest in Copenhagen, Denmark. Six entries competed in the national final on 3 March 2001 where "Out on My Own" performed by Michelle was selected as the winner following the combination of votes from three jury panels and a public vote.

In October 1885 Vincent van Gogh made a series of paintings of Amsterdam during a visit: View of Amsterdam from Central Station and The De Ruijterkade in Amsterdam.

Every edition features thirteen original songs that are performed in a live broadcast, each representing a region of the Netherlands. From the competing entries, a winner is determined through a combination of televoting and votes cast by regional juries.

The Dutch Song Contest 1995 was a one-off song competition between regional public broadcasters in the Netherlands. The contest was held on 25 May 1995 at the Muziekcentrum Vredenburg in Utrecht and was hosted by Karin Bloemen. It served as a substitute for the Nationaal Songfestival, the Dutch annual selection show for the Eurovision Song Contest, which was not held that year due to the Netherlands' relegation from the Eurovision Song Contest following an insufficient result in the 1994 edition.
