Vangede Battery (Danish: Vangede Batteri), located in Vangede, Gentofte Municipality, is a former military structure and current park in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark.
Vangede Battery was constructed in 1888 as part of Copenhagen's new ring fortification and was to guard the area between Lyngby Fort and GarderhøjFort. The structure was dug into a hill located just west of the village of Vangede. It was 350 metres long and had a crescent shape with a dry moat located in front of it. It contained a barracks building with four residential rooms for officers and private soldiers as well as a munition magazine. The battery was equipped with two 1+-trunk machine guns and nine 12 cm canons. [1]
The battery was decommissioned along with the rest of the fortifications in 1920. The casemate was later used by a now closed tin recycling plant.
The northern and central part of the area has been converted into a public park by Gentofte Municipality while southern part of the area has been sold off and redeveloped with single-family detached homes. The casemate is now the site of a playground. The northern battery line is well-preserved and can be seen from Horsevej and Stolbergsvej.

Forstbotanisk Have(lit. "Forestry Botanical Garden"), or Charlottenlund Arboretum was established in 1838 as an educational garden for botanists as part of the University of Copenhagen. It has previously been managed as a unit under the Hørsholm Arboretum, which in turn is operated by the University of Copenhagen's Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management. From 2008 until October 2021 it had been managed by the Skov- og Naturstyrelsen ("The Danish Nature Agency"). The land is now rented from the state and maintained by Gentofte Municipality. Gentofte-Vangede Idrætsforening is a Danish football club based in the Copenhagen suburban area Vangede. The club was founded 21 August 1921 and has since the foundation been playing at Nymosen Sports Park. The club was founded as merger between Gentofte Boldklub and Vangede Idrætsforening before the start of the 1921–22 tournament administrated by the Zealand Football Association (SBU). The founding clubs had previously been part of Nordre Birks Boldspil-Union and Københavns Forstadsklubbers Bold Union (KFBU), before being accepted as members of SBU during a general meeting on 29 May 1921.
Dan Turèlls Plads is a public square in the Vangede district of Gentofte Municipality in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. It was named for the writer Dan Turèll on 19 March 2007. Turèll grew up in the Vangede in the 1950s and published the memoir Vangedebilleder in 1975. The square feature a 47 metre long, turquoise bench and a sculpture from 2011.
