Charlottenlund Palace is a former royal summer residence in Charlottenlund, some 10 km (6 mi) north of central Copenhagen, Denmark. The palace was named after Princess Charlotte Amalie, who was responsible for the construction of the original palace. It was later extended and adapted for Crown Prince Frederick VIII to a design by Ferdinand Meldahl in the early 1880s.

Forstbotanisk Have(lit. "Forestry Botanical Garden"), or Charlottenlund Arboretum was established in 1838 as an educational garden for botanists as part of the University of Copenhagen. It has previously been managed as a unit under the Hørsholm Arboretum, which in turn is operated by the University of Copenhagen's Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management. From 2008 until October 2021 it had been managed by the Skov- og Naturstyrelsen ("The Danish Nature Agency"). The land is now rented from the state and maintained by Gentofte Municipality. It is located in the grounds of Charlottenlund Palace north of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Alice O'Fredericks was a Danish actress, screenwriter, and film director. She is best known for directing the series of Far til Fire comedies and the series of family dramas based on Morten Korch novels. Having written 38 produced screenplays and directed 72 feature films, O'Fredericks was one of the most prolific directors in Danish cinema. O'Fredericks also directed the first Danish films which highlighted women's rights. The Alice Award, presented annually to the Best Female Director at the Copenhagen International Film Festival, is named in her honor.

The neighbourhood takes its name after Charlottenlund Palace.
