Vardhan Puri (born 2 May 1990) is an Indian actor who works in Hindi films. [2] The grandson of actor Amrish Puri, [3] he made his first screen appearance as an actor in the 2019 film Yeh Saali Aashiqui . [4]
Puri is the son of Rajeev Amrish Puri and Meena Rajeev Puri. [5] He is the grandson of actor Amrish Puri. He completed his graduation from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics in 2011. He made his acting debut in the 2019 film Yeh Saali Aashiqui , [6] starring Shivaleeka Oberoi. Puri worked as an assistant director [7] for the films Daawat-e-Ishq , Shuddh Desi Romance and Ishaqzaade . [8] [9]
Puri made his acting debut with Yeh Saali Aashiqui in 2019, co-starring Shivaleeka Oberoi. Puri played dual roles of brothers Sahil Mehra and Surya Mehra. [10] Nandini Ramnath of Scroll.in noted, "Vardhan Puri overtips his hand on occasion, but he is very convincing as the gullible trainee who is forced to confront the dark depths of the human soul." [11] Devesh Sharma from Filmfare stated that Puri has potential to shine further as more projects come. [12] For his performance in the film, Puri received Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut nomination. [13]
After four years, Puri played Ronnie in Aseq alongside Sonnalli Seygall. [14] Archika Khurana from Times of India opined that Puri plays his part well, but has an underdeveloped character. [15]

Amrish Puri was an Indian actor, who was one of the most notable and important figures in Indian cinema and theatre. He acted in more than 450 films, established himself as one of the most popular and iconic actors in Indian cinema. Puri is remembered for playing various roles in variety of film genres, specially iconic villainous roles in Hindi cinema, as well as international cinema. He reigned supreme in villainous roles in the 1980s and 1990s, his dominating screen presence and distinctive deep voice made him stand out amongst the other villains of the day. Puri was active in both art cinema such as in some of Shyam Benegal and Govind Nihalani's films as well as in mainstream cinema. Puri won three Filmfare Awards for Best Supporting Actor in eight nominations. He also holds most Filmfare Award for Best Villain nominations.
