Vapor Trails is the seventeenth studio album by Canadian rock band Rush. It was released on May 14, 2002, on Anthem Records, and was their first studio release since Test for Echo (1996), the longest gap between two Rush albums. After the Test For Echo tour finished in July 1997, drummer and lyricist Neil Peart suffered the loss of his daughter and then his wife in separate tragedies. As a result, the group entered an extended hiatus during which it was not certain they would continue. They eventually reunited in January 2001 to rehearse material for a new album, recording for which lasted until December. For the first and only time since Caress of Steel (1975), the group did not use any keyboards or synthesizers in their music, incorporating many layers of guitar, bass and drums instead.
The Crystal Method is an American electronic music act formed in Las Vegas, Nevada, by Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland in the early 1990s. They were pioneers of the big beat genre and their music has appeared in numerous TV shows, films, video games, and advertisements. Their 1997 debut studio album Vegas was certified platinum in 2007, and saw follow-ups Tweekend, Legion of Boom, Divided by Night, and The Crystal Method. In 2017, Ken Jordan retired from music and left the group, with Scott Kirkland adopting The Crystal Method as a solo moniker.

Mstrkrft is a Canadian electronic music duo from Toronto. The group was started in 2005 by Jesse F. Keeler of Death from Above and Al-P formerly of the Mississauga, Ontario electropop group Girlsareshort. Al-P was also the producer for Death from Above 1979's album You're a Woman, I'm a Machine as well as several of Black Cat #13's records. The duo have been close friends, as well as work partners, for a long time. Mstrkrft also produced Die Mannequin's first EP, How to Kill, and Magneta Lane's second LP, Dancing With Daggers.
"Comin' Back" is a song by American electronic music duo The Crystal Method, featuring American vocalist Trixie Reiss. It was released on July 27, 1998, as the fourth and final single from their debut studio album Vegas. It is their most successful release, reaching number one on the Billboard US Dance Club Chart in 1998.
"(Can't You) Trip Like I Do" is a reworking of "Trip Like I Do", a song featured on The Crystal Method's debut album Vegas. The track was recorded for the 1997 film adaptation of the Spawn comic book series. The song was co-written by Richard Patrick and co-produced by Brian Liesegang, both from Filter who also appeared in the song's video. "(Can't You) Trip Like I Do" is the opening song on the film's soundtrack release, Spawn: The Album and is heard in the end credits. The song was also used for the theatrical trailer of The Matrix and promotional trailers for the Enter the Matrix video game but it does not appear in the film or on the soundtrack.

Pepe Deluxé is a Finnish electronic music oriented band, formed in 1996 by DJ Slow JA-Jazz and James Spectrum in Helsinki, Finland. They started to experiment with sounds of hip hop, big beat, breakbeat and downtempo. With the 2007 release Spare Time Machine the band gave up on sampling and concentrated on vintage music styles including psychedelia, baroque pop and surf rock. DJ Slow left the band in 2001 to pursue solo projects. JA-Jazz has been off-duty since 2008. Multi-instrumentalist Paul Malmström became an official member of the band in 2008.

The first single, "Drown in the Now", which features vocals by Matisyahu, was released to the iTunes Store on April 14, 2009, and the second single, "Black Rainbows" was released to the Beatport store on April 28, 2009. On October 5, 2009, they released the third single, "Come Back Clean" also exclusively to Beatport.

It is the band's first and only album released on DGC/Interscope following their departure from Epitaph Records. Torn Down is a 2018 remix album by British alternative rock band The Cure, and a sequel to the 1990 remix album Mixed Up. It was released on Record Store Day 2018, as was a remastered version of Mixed Up. A three-disc deluxe edition also includes Mixed Up Extras 2018: Remixes 1982–1990 on disc 2, featuring additional remastered material.
