Victoria Sporting Club, commonly known as Victoria SC, is a football club based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. [2] [3] Founded in 1903, the club competes in the Dhaka Senior Division League, the third tier of football in Bangladesh. [4] [5] [6] [7] They were relegated from the Bangladesh Championship League, in 2021. [8] [9]
Victoria Sporting Club, commonly known as Victoria SC, is a football club based in Dhaka. It was established in 1903, and named after Queen Victoria during the British regime. [10] [11] It is one of the oldest clubs in Bangladesh (formerly East Pakistan), and in 1948 they made history by becoming the first ever winners of the Dhaka League. [3] [12] [13] [5] Aside from their historic triupmh, they emerged champions of the league during the 1962 and 1964 editions, while finishing runners-up in 1960 and 1961. The club also participated in the historic IFA Shield before the partition of Bengal. [note 1]
In 1962, Victoria clinched the prestigious Aga Khan Gold Cup title, dismantling the fedder team for South Korea, Young Taegeuk Football Association 5–1. [14] [15] Many at the time considered Victoria SC to be the strongest club side in South Asia. [16]

Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited is a Bangladeshi professional football club based in Dhaka. Founded in 1936, it is one of the oldest and one of the most successful football clubs in the country, with a support base in all parts of the country. The club currently competing in the Bangladesh Premier League.
Team Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation was a football club in Bangladesh, which was mainly located in the city of Dhaka. The club was formerly known as East Pakistan IDC prior to 1971 and Bangladesh JIC from 1971 until 1975, from which point onward the club had been renamed to Team BJMC. In 1981 the club had stopped all their football related activities, however, after 29 years, in 2010 they restarted playing professional football under the new manager Arif Khan Joy. In 2019, Team BJMC was relegated from Bangladesh Premier League, the top-tier association football league in Bangladesh & postponed its football activities the same year.
The Shadhin Bangla football team was formed by Bangladesh Krira Samity of the Bangladeshi government in exile shortly after the start of liberation war in 1971. This is the first instance of a Bangladesh national football team in any form. The team toured throughout India playing a total of 16 friendly matches to raise international awareness and economic support for the liberation war.

Enayetur Rahman Khan is a former Bangladeshi footballer who played as a striker. He holds the record of scoring Bangladesh national team's first-ever international goal, which came in a 2–2 draw against Thailand during the country's inaugural competitive game in 1973. Golam Sarwar Tipu, is a former Bangladeshi football player and manager. He is one of the few East Pakistani footballers to represent the Pakistan national football team.
Chinghla Mong Chowdhury Mari, simply known as Mari Chowdhury, was a Bangladeshi football player who played as a left-winger. He is considered to be the best East Pakistani footballer of all time, and one of the few to play for the Pakistan national team. Although most of his goals are unregistered, Mari is the unrecognised all-time top scorer in both Dhaka League and Bangladeshi top-tier football history with 234 goals.
Sheikh Shaheb Ali was a former Bangladeshi football player and manager. He is the only East Pakistani to have both played for and managed the Pakistan national football team. He is also the first head coach of the Bangladesh national football team, guiding them at the 1973 Merdeka Cup. He holds the record of coaching Bangladesh to their first ever victory in international football.

He represented the Pakistan national team during his playing career and was later head coach of the Bangladesh national team on a record seven different appointments, including for the country's maiden AFC Asian Cup appearance. In 1980 he received the National Sports Awards, for his contribution to Bangladeshi football.
Pran Govinda Kundu, is a former Bangladeshi football player and manager. He was well known by his nickname Lucky Govinda during his playing days. He was a member of the Shadhin Bangla football team during the Bangladesh Liberation War and later was head coach of the Bangladesh national team.
