ACP Vijay Chaudhary is an Indian wrestler and three-time winner of the most prestigious Maharashtra Kesari title. He won this award thrice in a row 2014, 2015, and 2016, becoming only the second wrestler to achieve this feat after Narsing Yadav. He also led the Puneri Paltan in to victory in the star studded Inaugural Season of Zee Maharashtra Kusti League in 2019. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

On 3 May 2017, the Maharashtra government appointed Vijay Chaudhary as the Deputy Superintendent of Police, being the only sportsperson for the 2017 batch. He is involved in variety of social activities in the state of Maharashtra and more specifically for the upliftment of people from rural areas. He is currently working as the Assistant Commissioner of Police for Pune city. [7] [8] [9] He belongs to Saygaon of Taluka Chalisgaon. He completed his B.A. with a first class graduation from Rashtriya College Chalisgaon through North Maharashtra University. [10] [11] [12] [13] [14] [15] [16]

Pehlwani, also known as Kushti, is a form of wrestling contested in the Indian subcontinent. It was developed in the Mughal Empire by combining Persian Koshti pahlevani with influences from native Indian Malla-yuddha. The words pehlwani and kushti derive from the Persian terms pahlavani (heroic) and koshti respectively, meaning Heroic wrestling. A practitioner of this sport is referred to as a pehlwan while teachers are known as ustad.

Gopinath Pandurang Munde was an Indian politician from Maharashtra. A popular Leader in Maharashtra called a Lokneta. He was a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Union Minister for Rural and Panchayati Raj in Narendra Modi's Cabinet. He is well known for being the mastermind behind the finish of the underworld in Mumbai, as deputy chief minister with home ministry of Maharashtra in 1995-1999. He is a chief architect who introduced the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act in assembly which was ratified by the supreme court of India.

Paresh Mokashi is an Indian filmmaker, producer, actor and Theatre director-producer; working predominantly in Marathi cinema and Marathi theatre. He started working as a backstage worker for theatre and did few minor roles for plays as well as films. Mokashi made his directorial debut for theatre with the Marathi play, Sangeet Debuchya Mulee in 1999. He continued to work for theatre and made his directorial debut for cinema with the 2009 Marathi feature film, Harishchandrachi Factory. The film depicts the making of India's first full-length feature film, Raja Harishchandra (1913), made by Dadasaheb Phalke. The film was acclaimed critically and won several awards. It was also selected as India's official entry to 82nd Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

Dagadi Chawl is a 2015 Marathi language action drama thriller film directed by debutant Chandrakant Kanse. Presented by Manglmurti films and Produced by Sai Pooja Films & Entertainments. Daagdi Chaawl features an ensemble cast of Ankush Chaudhari, Makarand Deshpande and Pooja Sawant in lead roles. It is the third release for Ankush Chaudhari in 2015 after back to back blockbusters Classmates and Double Seat. Official teaser of the film was released with Tu Hi Re on 4 September 2015 and was published on YouTube on 5 September 2015 which met with very good response.

The Maratha Kranti Morcha, loosely translated as "Maratha revolutionary demonstration" in the Marathi language, is a series of silent and pragmatic protests organized by the Maratha community in various cities across India as well as overseas. Other groups, such as religious minorities including Muslims, have also supported the Morcha. The impetus for the rallies was the rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl in Kopardi village, Maharashtra, on 13 July 2016. The protesters have demanded the death sentence for the rapists. Maratha caste dominate the power and cultural structure in Maharashtra owing to their numerical strength.

Pragya Singh Thakur, better known as SadhviPragya, is an Indian politician and Member of Parliament representing Bhopal and belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party. During her college days, she was an active member of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and later joined various affiliate organisations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Ghar Banduk Biryani abbreviated as GBB, is a 2023 Indian Marathi-language action comedy film directed by Hemant Jangal Awtade in his directorial debut. Produced by Zee Studios and Nagraj Popatrao Manjule. The film stars Akash Thosar, Sayaji Shinde and Manjule. In the film, Commander Pallam's insurgency activities take place in the fictional village of Kolagad. Raju meets his future wife Lakshmi in a nearby hamlet. However, Lakshmi's father has a need that Raju have a house, which Raju cannot meet. Away from all of this, Inspector Raya Patil is truly carrying out his duty in Pune, which gets him into problems and leads to his transfer to Kolagad.
