Vjetar s Dinare (Wind from the Dinara ) is an album of the Croatian singer Thompson. It was released in 1998. The opening track Zaustavi se vjetre plays out as a conversation between Thompson and the Dinaric winds, sung by a Dalmatian klapa, in which Thompson begs the winds to tell him about his family. Prijatelji, or "Friends", is a song about reminiscence of wartime friends, and deals with topics of post-war delusion feelings of veterans.

The song Lijepa li si, or "You are beautiful", is a patriotic song which takes its name from the popular domestic name for Croatia, "Lijepa Naša" ("Our Beautiful Homeland"), the title of the country's national anthem. Ej, haj, pjesme naše talks about the power of music.

"The Best of Rock za Hrvatsku" was a popular compilation album of anti-war and patriotic songs released in 1992 during the Croatian War of Independence. Some of the contributing artists had been popular across the then recently defunct federation of Yugoslavia, namely Psihomodo pop, Jura Stublić, Parni valjak, Boa and Aerodrom's Jura Pađen. These artists took a pro-Croatian stance as the breakup of Yugoslavia and the Yugoslav Wars began, while others such as Azra did not participate because they disbanded and because of Branimir "Johnny" Štulić's publicly known frustrations with politics of the time.

Croatia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song "Lijepa Tena" written by Tonči Huljić and Vjekoslava Huljić. The song was performed by Igor Cukrov featuring Andrea. The Croatian broadcaster Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) organised the national final Dora 2009 to select the Croatian entry for the 2009 contest in Moscow, Russia. A total of twenty-four entries competed in the national final which consisted of two shows: a semi-final and a final. In the semi-final on 27 February 2009, six entries qualified to compete in the final on 28 February 2009 alongside ten pre-qualified songs. In the final, "Lijepa Tena" performed by Igor Cukrov was selected as the winner following the combination of votes from a six-member jury panel and a public televote.

The band's songs harbors folk tradition of the Western Balkans, Bosnian root music, Islamic poetics (ilahia) of the Bosnians and Bosnian Muslims, a concept of rock and roll as primarily progressive music open to various music influences, but also a classic jazz sound.
