Vladas Turla (born 22 February 1953) is a Lithuanian former sport shooter who competed for the Soviet Union in the 1980 Summer Olympics and finished 4th. [1]

Mikhail Valeryevich Nestruyev is a pistol shooter from Moscow, Russia. He is an all-round shooter, having achieved great successes in all five ISSF pistol events. He holds the 25 metre center-fire pistol world record of 594. He also shares the European record in 25 metre standard pistol with Ragnar Skanåker and Vladas Turla, and has performed over 580 at several occasions.

Lithuania competed at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam, Netherlands. After the disappointing debut in the 1924 Summer Olympics, Lithuania was better prepared for the games in Amsterdam. In 1926 it organized the first national Olympics. Lithuania sent 12 athletes to compete in 4 sports: athletics, boxing, cycling, and weightlifting. The best result was achieved by boxer Juozas Vinča, who shared 5th–8th places. Lithuania did not appear in the Olympics again until after the restoration of independence in 1992.

Red of Tooth and Claw is the fourth full-length album by the American five-piece indie rock band Murder by Death, their first for the Vagrant record label. The title comes from a reference in Lord Tennyson's poem In Memoriam A.H.H. It was recorded by the Grammy-winning producer Trina Shoemaker at Dark Horse Recording Studio in Tennessee, and was released on March 4, 2008.

Vladislovas "Vladas" Česiūnas is a Lithuanian sprint canoeist who competed in the early 1970s. He won one Olympic medal and six ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships medals during his career. He later became known for his role in "The Česiūnas Affair" when he defected from the 1979 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Duisburg, Germany only to return to the Soviet Union afterwards for his "misconduct".

Men's 10 metre air pistol made its Olympic debut at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Erich Buljung equalled the world record of 590 points in the qualification round, acquiring a two-point lead over the new 50 metre champion, Sorin Babii. Neither of them performed a good final however, and Tanyu Kiryakov eliminated his entire five-point gap to first place. The tie between Kiryakov and Buljung was resolved on grounds of higher final score, with Kiryakov becoming the inaugural champion. Xu Haifeng surpassed Babii to win bronze.
