History
WLKD went on the air on August 1, 1978 as WFBZ, playing big band music. The station for only a short period of time became a simulcast of the album-oriented rock/country music format of its FM sister 95.9 WWMH (now WMQA-FM) before discontinuing its simulcast in 1979 when WWMH flipped its format to MOR. At the same time, WFBZ flipped to beautiful music for the next two-and-a-half years. Both WFBZ and WWMH had a couple of changes throughout the early 1980s. WFBZ dropped the beautiful music format in 1981 and flipped to MOR, WWMH dropped MOR for Top 40 in 1982, and then WFBZ flipped from MOR to adult contemporary the following year in 1983. On April 1, 1985, WFBZ changed its calls to WMYM (We Make Your Memories) and flipped to an Adult Standards format programmed separately from the FM. At the same time, WFBZ's former adult contemporary format went over to WWMH. (1)
On February 1, 1992, the station changed its call sign to WMQA and returned to simulcasting with its FM sister station, which concurrently became WMQA-FM; with the FM station's adult contemporary music format. The FM station has been running its adult contemporary format since 1985. On March 19, 1999, the calls changed to the current WLKD and 1570 AM adopted an adult standards format for the third time in its history, this time featuring programming from the Music of Your Life network. (The AC format continued on WMQA-FM until late August 2008 when that station changed its format to Oldies.) WLKD dropped Music of Your Life in favor of ESPN Radio programming in the fall of 2004 and entered into a simulcast with ESPN station WOBT in Rhinelander.
In January 2009, WLKD dropped ESPN Radio and switched back to the Music of Your Life format. Its former simulcast partner, WOBT, is now airing Classic Country.
On February 29, 2012, WLKD changed its format to news/talk.
On January 22, 2014, WLKD changed its format to soft oldies, branded as "The Lake".
WWWL is a commercial radio station in New Orleans, Louisiana. Owned by Audacy, Inc., it broadcasts a sports gambling format. The station's studios are located at the 400 Poydras Tower in Downtown New Orleans. Its transmitter site is in Algiers, near the city limits of Gretna and Terrytown. The station operates at 5,000 watts during the day and 480 watts at night, using a non-directional antenna. The station is simulcast on FM translator station W225CZ.
WZTI is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Greenfield, Wisconsin, and serving the Milwaukee metropolitan area. It airs an oldies radio format, featuring hits from the 1960s and 1970s, known as "Fonz-FM". It is owned by the Milwaukee Radio Alliance, a partnership between Times-Shamrock Communications and All-Pro Broadcasting, along with sister stations 102.1 WLUM-FM and 93.3 WLDB. Its studios are on Good Hope Road in Menomonee Falls.
KXCB is a commercial AM radio station broadcasting a country music format. Licensed to Omaha, Nebraska, the station serves the Omaha–Council Bluffs metropolitan area. It is owned and operated by Steven Seline, through licensee Hickory Radio, LLC. The studios and offices are on Burt Street near North 120th Street and Dodge Road in West Omaha.
WLXT is an adult contemporary radio station licensed to Petoskey, Michigan, at an ERP of 100,000 watts, covering most of northern Michigan. It is owned by Trish MacDonald-Garber, whose family has owned the station for over 30 years. Between mid-November and December each year, WLXT switches to an all-Christmas music format.
WAJD is a commercial radio station in Gainesville, Florida. It is owned by Gillen Broadcasting Corporation and airs an urban contemporary format. In Gainesville and adjacent communities, programming can also be heard on FM translator W255CV at 98.9 MHz. WAJD calls itself "98.9 Jamz" using the frequency of the FM translator.
WYDE is a commercial AM radio station. The station is owned by the Crawford Broadcasting Company and airs a Southern Gospel radio format with some Christian talk and teaching programs. It is simulcast with WYDE-FM 92.5 MHz in Cordova.
WCCW is one side of a radio combo in Traverse City, Michigan. It is owned by the Midwestern Broadcasting group, which to this day includes the family members of its original partners from the early 1940s, the Biedermans, Kikers and McClays. Midwestern acquired WCCW AM/FM, its long-time "local competitor" in 1996. The highly rated FM station is WCCW-FM, while the AM station is one of the lowest-rated Arbitron-wise in the area.
WHIO-FM – branded AM 1290 and News 95.7 WHIO – is a commercial talk radio station licensed to serve Pleasant Hill, Ohio, covering Dayton, Ohio and the Dayton metropolitan area. Owned by Cox Media Group, WHIO-FM acts as a full-time simulcast of WHIO. The WHIO-FM studios are located at Cox Media Center building in Dayton, while the transmitter is located in nearby Piqua. In addition to a standard analog transmission, WHIO-FM streams online.
KKSY-FM is a commercial FM radio station in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It broadcasts a country music radio format and is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. KKSY carries the syndicated Bobby Bones Show in morning drive time and After Midnite with Granger Smith overnight.
WHKO is a commercial radio station in Dayton, Ohio. The station is owned by Cox Media Group and carries a country music radio format. Its studios and offices are co-located with the Dayton Daily News, WHIO-AM-FM-TV, and two more radio stations in the Cox Media Center building near downtown Dayton.
WNWZ is a radio station broadcasting an urban contemporary format, licensed to Grand Rapids, Michigan.
WWCK is a commercial AM radio station in Flint, Michigan. It is owned by Cumulus Media and it broadcasts a classic hits radio format. Its studios are south of the Flint city limits and the AM transmitter is east of downtown Flint near the intersection of Dort Highway and I-69. WWCK carries Michigan State Spartans college football and men's basketball.
WWDK is a radio station broadcasting a classic country format. Licensed to Jackson, Michigan, it first began broadcasting on July 14, 1958 as WMKZ-FM. The station broadcasts from a tower near Springport, Michigan.
WSHY is a commercial radio station in Lafayette, Indiana. It broadcasts a conservative talk radio format. WSHY is owned by William Fielder, III's Coastal Television, through licensee CTI License LLC, as part of a cluster with Fox/NBC affiliate WPBI-LD, ABC affiliate WPBY-LD, and sister radio stations WBPE, WYCM and WAZY-FM. All six stations share studios and offices at 3824 South 18th Street in Lafayette, with WSHY's transmitter also located at the site.

The station airs a rhythmic contemporary format, and is one of seven stations in the market owned and operated by iHeartMedia. The station's studios are located in San Diego's Kearny Mesa neighborhood on the northeast side, and the transmitter is atop Mt. Soledad, located in La Jolla.
