The station's application was confirmed as acceptable by Industry Canada for coordination purposes under NARBA, on July 25, 2014 and its construction permit was granted on August 7, 2014. The station is somewhat unusual in that upon gaining FCC authorization, its owners launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise the necessary funds to purchase station equipment, a tower for their antenna, and a studio to begin broadcasts.
