Waiting for the Day is the debut studio album by Australian band Bachelor Girl. The album was released in Australia through Gotham Records on 9 November 1998 (see 1998 in music). The album charted in the top twenty on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart and was certified platinum.

Contents

The album yielded four singles; "Buses and Trains", "Treat Me Good", "Lucky Me" and "Blown Away" as well as one promotional single, "Permission to Shine".

At the ARIA Music Awards of 1999, the album won the ARIA Award for Producer of the Year as well as being nominated for Breakthrough Artist – Album and Best Pop Release. [1]

It was released in the United States in 1999, under the title Breaking Through from Down Under with a slightly altered track listing.

Critical reception

Heather Phares from AllMusic said "Bachelor Girl provide plenty of youthful, shiny dance-pop on their debut album. Songs like "Blown Away", "Buses and Trains" and "Treat Me Good" showcase Tania Doko's girlish yet powerful voice and James Roche's songwriting and production skills." calling it "A catchy, entertaining album" [2]

Commercial performance

Waiting for the Day was commercially successful in Australia, spending nine months in the top fifty and peaking in the top twenty on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart.

It was also a hit in New Zealand, where it reached number six and earned a Gold certification. Eleven is the eleventh studio album (9 in English, 2 in French) released by Australian singer and songwriter Tina Arena. The album was released in Australia on 30 October 2015. The first single and only single, "I Want to Love You" was released on 4 September 2015. Arena described Eleven as a "personal album" that was "joyous to make". Arena hinted at a tour, saying "I'm looking forward to playing the songs for you live soon". Hit Machine was an Australian compilation album series produced and skewed by Festival Records, Mushroom Records BMG and Columbia Records, available in only Australia. It competed with 100% Hits, which started two years before, during its existence. It was released every three months and are mainly the biggest Top 40 hits of the season. It commenced in 1993 and ran 28 versions until 2000, where it was replaced by the So Fresh series. The replaced series uses the season-named format and includes songs from artists under Universal Music, which was previously included in 100% Hits series. Festival Records was folded to Warner Bros. Records, which managed the 100% Hits and NOW series with EMI. Sony Music Australia and Warner Bros. Records released digitally remastered versions of the entire Hit Machine series from 2015.
