With an undergraduate enrollment of 24,278 and a total enrollment of 28,581, it is the second largest institution for higher education in Washington state behind the University of Washington. Northwest Public Broadcasting is the public radio and public television service of Washington State University. It is an affiliate of National Public Radio, Public Radio Exchange and American Public Media. It operates 19 radio stations and 13 translators across Washington state, Oregon, and Idaho, and provides coverage to parts of British Columbia. The network broadcasts public radio news, talk, entertainment, classical music, jazz, and folk music. Station programming is separated into two main program streams, "NPR News" and "NPR & Classical Music", with simulcast periods during Morning Edition, All Things Considered, Weekend Edition and Weekend All Things Considered. Since November 2013, Northwest Public Broadcasting also operates a 24-hour jazz station, KJEM 89.9, broadcasting in the Pullman and Moscow area.

Washington State University Tri-Cities is one of six campuses that make up Washington State University. It is located along the Columbia River in northern Richland, Washington. With upper division and graduate programs, WSU Tri-Cities offers 20 baccalaureate, 17 master's and 14 doctoral degree programs. The campus added freshman and sophomore courses in fall 2007 to become a true four-year public university. The Everett University Center (EUC) formerly known as University Center of North Puget Sound is a "consortium of universities" located on the 3rd floor of the WSU Everett campus building in Everett, Washington. The EUC supports over 20 bachelor's and master's degrees from public partner universities and colleges to the residents of Snohomish, Island and Skagit Counties. The center offers flexible scheduling and online or hybrid classes.

The Washington State University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is one of two PharmD granting institutions within the state of Washington. In 2013, the college and its programs were relocated to the WSU Health Sciences Spokane campus, which also houses the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine and College of Nursing. Along with their Doctor of Pharmacy program, the college offers dual degrees and certificates in engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, communications and an MBA. To better serve rural areas of Washington state, in 2015 the college established its extension in Yakima, located in central Washington. The program is housed in the Pacific Northwest University campus.
The Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine is a public medical school headquartered in Spokane, Washington. Founded in 2015, it is part of Washington State University, and is the second public medical school in the state of Washington. It welcomed its inaugural class in the fall of 2017, joining the University of Washington and Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences as one of three medical schools in the state.
Washington State University Everett is a campus of Washington State University in Everett, Washington. The land-grant research university was founded in 1890 and the Washington State Legislature approved funding for WSU to expand to Snohomish County in 2011. The campus began with a 95,000-square foot building costing $64 million. The campus was founded in 2014, and courses began in late 2017.
The Washington State University College of Nursing is a nursing school affiliated with Washington State University. Its main location is on the Washington State University Health Sciences campus in Spokane, Washington, with programs also offered at WSU Vancouver, WSU Tri-Cities, and in Yakima, Washington. Degrees offered include Bachelor of Science in Nursing; RN-BSN; Master of Nursing; Doctor of Nursing Practice; and PhD. Enrollment among all programs at all locations was 942 for spring semester 2018.
The Elmina White Honors Hall, also known as Honors Hall is a residence hall located on the main campus of Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. It was designed by Stanley Smith, the head of the architecture department at Washington State University (1924-1947), and was completed in 1928. It was later remodeled into student housing and faculty offices in 2001, costing $15.3 million. It is located in the northwest corner of Washington State University (WSU) in Pullman, Washington. Its original purpose was to house the Home Economics department as part of the College of Domestic Economy. Following the 2001 reconstruction, the four-story building, with a converted basement, was transformed into three floors of residential suites with classrooms, offices, and a library for the WSU Honors College on the ground floor, and several multi-purpose rooms in the basement. It was designed in a Georgian Revival style and was referred to as an “elegant architectural statement” in a report provided by the Washington State University Task Force for Historic Preservation in 1985.
