Water polo at the 2022 Asian Games was held at the Huanglong Sports Centre Swimming & Diving Centre, Hangzhou, China from 25 September to 7 October. Nine countries with eight men's teams and seven women's teams participated in the competition. [1]

She is one of four female players who competed in water polo at four Olympics; and one of two female athletes who won four Olympic medals in water polo. She is a leading goalscorer in Olympic water polo history, with 31 goals. In 2018, she was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame and the USA Water Polo Hall of Fame.

Water polo at the 1988 Summer Olympics as usual was part of the swimming sport, the other two being swimming and diving. They were not seen as three separate sports, because they all were governed by one federation — FINA. Water polo discipline consisted of one event: the men's team competition.

Webster is a London Olympic bronze medalist, Junior World Champion, and was rated in the top 3 players in the world two years in a row. Webster was the Australian Women's Water Polo Captain at the 2020 Olympics.

The water polo tournaments at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro took place from 6 to 20 August at the Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre in Barra da Tijuca. Twenty teams competed in the tournament. Games that ended in ties in elimination rounds were decided by shootouts, as overtime has been abolished since 2013.

The 2015 FINA Women's Water Polo World League is played between November 2014 and June 2015 and open to all women's water polo national teams. After participating in a preliminary round, eight teams qualify to play in a final tournament, called the Super Final in Shanghai, China from 09–14 June 2015.

The women's tournament of Water polo at the 2016 Summer Olympics at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, began on 9 August and ended on 19 August 2016. Games were held at the Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre and the Olympic Aquatics Stadium.

The 2016 FINA Men's Water Polo World League was the 15th edition of the annual men's international water polo tournament. It was played between October 2015 and June 2016 and opened to all men's water polo national teams. After participating in a preliminary round, eight teams qualify to play in a final tournament, called the Super Final in Huizhou, China from 21–26 June 2016.

The women's water polo tournament at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships was held from 14 to 26 July.
