Waterford IT GAA is the GAA club of the Waterford Institute of Technology, established in 1981. Its hurling team play in the Fitzgibbon Cup and Waterford Crystal Cup as well as Higher Education Leagues. Its football team plays in the Sigerson Cup and McGrath Cup as well as Higher Education Leagues. Its camogie team competes in the Ashbourne Cup. The ladies Gaelic football team has competed in the O'Connor Cup.

History

In 1981, Waterford IT GAA consisted of one hurling team playing in Division 3. Today, it has sixteen teams competing in twenty-two competitions in the third-level education sector. Teams from Waterford IT have won a total of 71 titles, including: Division 1 Hurling titles, Fitzgibbon Cup trophies, Fresher 1 and Fresher 2 All-Irelands. Ashbourne Cup, Purcell Cups, Division 1 Leagues and numerous men's and Ladies Football titles. Since its foundation, the club has won at least one major title every year. Recent titles include the Fitzgibbon cup in 2003, 2004 and 2006, the Ashbourne cup in 2001, fresher Camogie All-Ireland in 2005, the Division 3 ladies football in 2003, the fresher hurling All-Ireland in 2006 and the fresher hurling and Camogie All-Ireland shield in 2007.[ citation needed ]

Dublin City University Gaelic Athletic Association Club is the GAA club at Dublin City University. The club fields teams in men's Gaelic football, hurling, ladies' Gaelic football and camogie. It also organises Gaelic handball. The club mainly competes in intervarsity competitions such as the Sigerson Cup, the Fitzgibbon Cup, the O'Connor Cup and the Ashbourne Cup. DCU has also entered competitions organised by the Leinster GAA, including the O'Byrne Cup, the Kehoe Cup and Walsh Cup. In 2016 St. Patrick's College, Drumcondra merged with Dublin City University. As a result some DCU GAA teams, especially reserve teams, compete as DCU St Patrick's or DCU Dóchas Éireann.

Oliver Moran is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling with his local club Ahane and was a member of the Limerick senior inter-county team from 1997 to 2009. During his career as a hurler, he has won 3 County Championships with Ahane, 2 Fitzgibbon Cup titles with Waterford IT, a National Hurling League and Waterford Crystal Cup title with Limerick, 5 Railway Cup titles with Munster and a shinty/hurling international with Ireland. Ollie's individual accolades include a Munster All-Star award in 2004 and a GAA All-Star award in 2007. He was also captain of the Limerick Senior Hurling Team in 2005. In 2013 he appeared as a studio analyst on The Sunday Game.

UCC is a football and hurling club associated with University College Cork. UCC teams play in the Cork Senior Football Championship and Cork Senior Hurling Championship as well as the two main third-level competitions namely the Sigerson Cup in football, the Fitzgibbon Cup in hurling and the Ashbourne Cup in camogie. They also compete against inter-county sides in the pre-season McGrath Cup (football) and Waterford Crystal Cup (hurling). The piratical skull and crossbones logo on the team shirt, which first appeared on the rugby team of what was then known as Queen’s College Cork was appropriated in the mid-1910s by the GAA clubs, and in 1929 by the UCC hockey club.

Tralee IT GAA was the GAA team in the Institute of Technology, Tralee, Ireland. They played Gaelic football, hurling, ladies' Gaelic football and camogie. On 1 January 2021, Tralee IT merged with Cork IT to become Munster Technological University.

St Martin's GAA club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Murrintown in the Parish of Piercestown, County Wexford, Ireland. Robert Downey is an Irish hurler. At club level he plays with Glen Rovers and at inter-county level with the Cork senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a full-back or half-back.

Shane Barrett is an Irish hurler. At club level he plays with Blarney and at inter-county level with the Cork senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a centre-forward.
