Waterloo Rovers Football Club is a Welsh football club based in Welshpool, Powys. They play in the Central Wales Northern Division.

The home colours are blue shirts with black shorts and socks. [2]

Waterloo Rovers were founded after the war by Welshpool brothers Bert and Tom James, playing on the old tip, before later folding and joining with Guilsfield. After a few years joined with Guilsfield, Waterloo Rovers regained independence, and began playing on a pitch by Maesydre, and Welshpool Rugby Club's pitch, where they have played ever since. In 1978 Bert and Tom's younger brother, Fred James, became the first President of Waterloo Rovers F.C.

With the continual struggle to entice outside players to the club and a constant strain in retaining local juniors due to lack of employment opportunities, the club ventured into amalgamation talks with neighbouring football clubs Devon and Toora. The outcome would eventually see the club join forces with the Devon Football Club prior to the start of the 1995 Alberton League season. Guilsfield is a village and local government community in Montgomeryshire, Powys, Wales. It lies beside Guilsfield Brook about three miles north of Welshpool. It is located on the B4392 road and a disused branch of the Montgomery Canal starts nearby. The community has an area of 30.01 km2 (11.59 sq mi) and had a population of 1,640 in 2001. rising to 1,727 in 2011. The community includes the villages of Burgedin and Groes-lwyd. The village itself had a population of about 1,220.

The 1921–22 season was the first season of league football played by Tranmere Rovers. They joined the Football League Third Division North, when it was established after the restructuring of the English league system. The club played their first fixture, against Crewe Alexandra, at Prenton Park on 27 August 1921, winning 4–1.
