Weekly Mansions is the thirty-fifth studio album by Omar Rodríguez-López as a solo artist,released on 4 November 2016. It is his ninth release in the 12-album series initiated by Ipecac Recordings. [2]
Co-written between Omar and his brother Marcel,Weekly Mansions is described as "an eclectic exploration of neo-electro-dance"., [3] and is one of the few Rodriguez-Lopez's albums to not feature any guitar whatsoever. It was mostly recorded in Japan in 2011,with the title likely a reference to the Japanese hotel chain.
"Metallic Sweating for the Rich" contains the original track used as the outro to "Piedras y Ansiedad" from 2010's Tychozorente . "Disheartening Envelope" is an extended version of "Células Hermosas",previously released on Octopus Kool Aid ,elements of which were present throughout Tychozorente as well. "Want,Need,Scream in a Dream" is an original version of what eventually became the intro to The Mars Volta's song "Zed And Two Naughts" from Noctourniquet .
"Science Urges" was uploaded in advance as the album's single and went on to be re-recorded by Omar in 2018 and released on July 24,2020,as part of The Clouds Hill Tapes Parts I,II &III .

The Mars Volta is an American rock band formed in 2001. The band's only constant members are Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala,whose partnership forms the core of the band. The band's current line-up also includes founding member Eva Gardner (bass),Omar's brother Marcel Rodríguez-López,Leo Genovese and Linda-Philomène Tsoungui (drums).
Omar Alfredo Rodríguez-López is a Puerto Rican guitarist and songwriter. He has formed or played in several bands,including The Mars Volta,At the Drive-In,Antemasque,and Bosnian Rainbows. He was the bassist for the dub band De Facto. He has embarked on a solo career,both in studio and in concert,frequently described as experimental,avant-garde,or progressive. He has also collaborated with numerous artists,such as Damo Suzuki,John Frusciante,El-P,Mon Laferte and Calle 13.
De Facto is an American dub reggae band which has included Cedric Bixler-Zavala,Omar Rodríguez-López,Isaiah "Ikey" Owens and Jeremy Ward.
Omar Rodriguez is the second studio album by The Mars Volta guitarist Omar Rodríguez-López and the first in the "Amsterdam series". Most of the overdubs were done on the road in August 2005 and the album was mixed in September. Gold Standard Laboratories began offering a limited edition vinyl picture disc of this release for mail order in December 2006.
Marcellus Rodríguez-López is an American multi-instrumentalist musician and younger brother of Omar Rodríguez-López. He is best known as the keyboardist and percussionist of the Mars Volta and the drummer for Zechs Marquise. He also produces electronic music under the moniker Eureka the Butcher and has performed with De Facto since 2024.
Please Heat This Eventually is a 12" EP from Gold Standard Laboratories and is a collaboration between Omar Rodríguez-López Group and Damo Suzuki of the group Can. It features both live performance of the group with Suzuki in Cologne,Germany on November 14,2005,and studio recorded elements arranged together into one extended piece. The EP consists of a single 25-minute track split up over both sides of the record. Parts 1,2,and 3 appear on side 1 and parts 4,5,and 6 appear on side 2. It was released commercially on January 23,2007 on vinyl,though GSL pre-orders began shipping in December 2006.
Se Dice Bisonte,No Búfalo is the third studio album by Omar Rodríguez-López and the second in the "Amsterdam series". It was written and recorded in 2005 in California and Amsterdam,and was released May 29,2007 by Gold Standard Labs on both vinyl and CD. A limited edition,brown marble vinyl was also available. 750 were made to fulfill pre-orders through April 30.
The Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group is an American experimental rock band,and the main side project of Omar Rodríguez-López. Featuring an ever-changing lineup of musicians alongside Rodriguez-Lopez,the group is most often a live entity to perform the various outlets of his solo music aside from the Mars Volta. After the dissolution of the Mars Volta in 2012,Omar completed a few more solo records until 2013 before deciding to pursue only collaborative efforts with groups At the Drive-In,Bosnian Rainbows,Antemasque,and Crystal Fairy.
Xenophanes is the twelfth studio album by Omar Rodríguez-López as a solo artist. The same members of Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Group who toured Europe in March 2009 are featured on this record,created a few months beforehand. On September 28,2009 the recording was released digitally via the Rodriguez-Lopez productions website as well as physically in Europe on both CD and yellow vinyl. The recording was released physically in the U.S. on November 10,2009 on both CD and pink vinyl. A music video directed by Omar for "Asco Que Conmueve los Puntos Erógenos" was released on YouTube on November 30,2009.

Sepulcros de Miel is the twenty-first release by Omar Rodríguez-López,guitarist,band leader,and producer of The Mars Volta Group. Released under the Omar Rodriguez Lopez Quartet name,this record features fellow Mars Volta members Juan Alderete &Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez as well as John Frusciante. The record was digitally released May 30,2010,with a vinyl release to follow,scheduled to ship around August 15. Vinyl copies were finished early and supplied on July 15,1,000 copies on purple vinyl and 1,000 copies on orange vinyl. Like Omar Rodriguez-Lopez &John Frusciante,this album was originally made available as a free download from Omar's Bandcamp page with the option to donate money to "Keep Music In Schools" program. Later,free purchase option was replaced by a minimum price of $4.99. Similar to the Omar Rodriguez-Lopez &Lydia Lunch,this album consists of a single lengthy piece divided into several parts.
Tychozorente is the sixteenth studio album by Omar Rodríguez-López. The digital version was released on September 14,2010,and the CD was released by Rodriguez Lopez Productions in Europe on November 18,2010. This record is Omar's first collaboration with DJ Nobody and his first release to feature no guitar. Two songs,"Polaridad" and "El Todo" were premiered during a performance by Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group at Metamorphose Festival,Japan,on September 4,2010. An official video directed by Omar for "Polaridad" was released the day following the album's digital release.

Sworn Virgins is the twenty-seventh studio album by Omar Rodríguez-López as a solo artist,his first in more than 3 years and first to be released through Ipecac Recordings. Due to an error,Sworn Virgins accidentally leaked through Rhapsody on June 24,2016,three weeks before its official release date. On July 7,2016,it was announced that Sworn Virgins would be the first in the series of 12 records Ipecac would be releasing as digital downloads,fortnightly throughout the remainder of 2016. Limited CD pressings and a possible limited edition CD/LP box set containing all 12 records were also in the plans.
