The album was the band's first release to be recorded without long-time drummer Ben Jolliffe, who left the band a year prior to its release. Danielle Whalebone is an Australian rock musician, songwriter and guitarist, best known for forming post-punk band Animal Hands and her subsequent solo career. Whalebone wrote the songs for Animal Hands and received acknowledgment for her songwriting and vocals in the press having been likened to that of PJ Harvey but with a more underground punk/wave vibe. Melbournes Beat Magazine described Whalebone as possessing a voice that can carry the band, overlaying her fuzzy guitar riffs, a sound very similar to that of Garbage and Magic Dirt. Whalebone states in an interview with What's my scene Magazine that she is inspired by "unconventional women, poets, writers, film makers and artists". Whalebone gained acclaim for having taken on the daunting task of keeping punk and grunge alive in Melbourne with her distinct early nineties sound. and in a review by The Dwarf magazine as having the "balls to bring back the grunge, a woman with all the strength and grace of Adelita Srsen". When asked to describe her music Whalebone replies "it's like Black truffles because they are found in the dirt but are syrupy sweet." in an interview with 'What's my scene magazine'.
Mallory Knox is the fourth and final studio album by the British rock band Mallory Knox. It was released on 16 August 2019, through A Wolf At Your Door Records, and is the only album to feature bassist Sam Douglas on lead vocals.
"Born Cold" is a song by English rock band Creeper. Written by the band's lead vocalist Will Gould, lead guitarist Ian Miles and record producer Neil Kennedy, it was recorded at Wax Ltd Studios in Hollywood, California and produced by Xandy Barry. The song is the third track on the band's second studio album Sex, Death & the Infinite Void and was released as the first single from the album on 3 November 2019.
