Welson Sim Wee Sheng (born 29 March 1997) is a Malaysian professional swimmer. He was the first Malaysian male swimmer to qualify for the men's 400 metre freestyle event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. [3] [4]
Sim was born in Kuching,Sarawak to Lee Ngiat Kim and Sim Ah Tee. [2] [5] He started joining swimming classes at the age of 10 to overcome childhood asthma,and competed in Sarawak's President Cup a year later. [4] [6] By the time he turned 12,he was in the Sarawak state swimming team. [7] Sim attended Batu Lintang National Secondary School,before transferring to Bukit Jalil Sports School during the mid-semester in Form Three. [8]
In March 2021,Sim involved in a motorcycle accident,resulting in a broken arm and had two pins inserted into his left arm. [9]
Ang Peng Siong is a swimmer from Singapore,who once held World Number 1 ranking in the 50 m freestyle. As of 2012,he is Singapore's Swimming National Head Coach.

Tan Wee Kiong is a Malaysian badminton player in the doubles event. He is well-known for his former partnership with Goh V Shem,which began at the 2014 Thomas Cup. Together,Tan and Goh won the gold medal in the men's doubles and the mixed team event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. They also won bronze at the 2014 Asian Games. In their Olympic debut at the 2016 Rio Olympics,they won the silver medal,becoming the first Malaysian pair to achieve such a feat since 1996. In November 2016,they reached a career-high ranking of world number 1,making them the fourth ever Malaysian men's doubles pair to do so,after Cheah Soon Kit and Yap Kim Hock,Chan Chong Ming and Chew Choon Eng,and Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong.
Benjamin Proud is an English competitive swimmer,representing Great Britain at the Olympic Games,the FINA World Aquatics Championships and LEN European Aquatics Championships,and England at the Commonwealth Games. Proud specialises in sprint freestyle and butterfly races,specifically the 50-metre distance in both. He is the 2022 World Champion in the 50 metre freestyle,his second long course world title. He is the 2017 world champion in the 50-metre butterfly. He is only the third male swimmer to be simultaneously short-course and long-course World Champion at 50 metre freestyle,after César Cielo and Florent Manaudou.

He is also an eight-time World Champion,a sixteen-time European Champion and a four-time Commonwealth Champion. According to FINA itself,Peaty is widely regarded as the dominant breaststroke swimmer of his era,and the most dominant sprint breaststroke swimmer of all time.
Markus Thormeyer is a Canadian competitive swimmer who specializes in freestyle and backstroke. Originally from Delta,Thormeyer moved in 2015 to Vancouver,British Columbia after graduating high school to train with the High Performance Centre-Vancouver. While he swims he is also pursuing an undergraduate degree in environmental science at the University of British Columbia.
