"Why Am I Crying" is a song written by Molly Sandén, Aleena Gibson and Windy Wagner. Participating in the third semifinal of Melodifestivalen 2012 in Leksand on 18 February 2012, the song made it directly to the finals inside the Stockholm Globe Arena on 10 March the same year. [1] Once there, it ended up fifth. [2]

The single was released on 25 February 2012, following the final semifinal. [3] On 2 March 2012, the song debuted on the Swedish singles chart where it peaked at number 8 on 16 March the same year.

The lyrics were written before Molly Sandén broke up with Eric Saade in 2011. [4]

The song also appeared on Molly Sandén's studio album Unchained , with both the original version and an acoustic version. [5]

The song was featured in the second episode of Australian TV show, Ja'mie: Private School Girl . [6]

Aleena Gibson, is a Swedish songwriter living in Stockholm. Her credits include Jason Derulo, Mr. Big, Nick Carter, S Club 7, Chenoa, Tata Young, Rouge Jill Johnson, Girls' Generation, and Austin Mahone. She performed in Melodifestivalen 2003 singing her song Better Believe It and finished 6th in the first semi final.

Molly My Marianne Sandén is a Swedish pop singer and voice actress. As a teenager, she represented Sweden in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2006 and participated in Melodifestivalen in 2009 and as a young adult in 2012 and 2016. Her sisters Frida and Mimmi are also singers. In 2018, Sandén released her third studio album, Större. Her fourth studio album was released in early 2019, called Det bästa kanske inte hänt än.

Melodifestivalen 2010

Melodifestivalen 2010 was a Swedish song contest held between February and March 2010. It was the selection for the 50th song to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest, and was the 49th edition of Melodifestivalen. Five semi-finals were held in the Swedish cities of Örnsköldsvik, Sandviken, Gothenburg and Malmö, with Örebro hosting the final Andra Chansen round.

"You're Out of My Life" is a song recorded by Swedish singer Darin and was Darin's entry in Melodifestivalen 2010. The song was first performed in Deltävling 3 of Melodifestivalen in Göteborg on February 20, 2010 where Darin reached second place and progressed to the final on March 13 in Stockholm. The single was released on February 28, 2010. This is Darin's first physical single release since his departure from Sony Music.

Robin Stjernberg

Robin James Olof Stjernberg is a Swedish pop singer. He represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 on home soil on 18 May 2013 with the song "You". Stjernberg started his career in the boyband What's Up!, and became a contestant in Idol 2011, placing as first runner up in the final. He participated in Eurovision Song Contest 2017 as the songwriter for the song I Can't Go On performed by Robin Bengtsson, which ended up in fifth place.

Sweden participated in and won the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The Swedish entry was selected through Melodifestivalen 2012, a national final format that consisted of four semi-finals, a second chance round and a final, organised by Swedish broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT). Loreen represented Sweden with the song "Euphoria", which qualified from the second semi-final and went on to win the contest in the final, scoring 372 points.

Melodifestivalen 2015 was the Swedish music competition that selected Sweden's 55th entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. Måns Zelmerlöw won with the song "Heroes". The hosts for the show were Sanna Nielsen and comedian Robin Paulsson.

Dolly Style

Dolly Style is a Swedish girl group. The group was created by Emma Nors and Palle Hammarlund and features three girls that call themselves Molly, Holly and Polly. The trio claims to originate from a "dollhouse in Dollyville". The group is inspired by the kawaii aesthetic from Japanese subcultures, such as fairy kei, gyaru and lolita.

Melodifestivalen 2016 was the 56th edition of the Swedish music competition Melodifestivalen, which selected Sweden's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. The competition was organised by Sveriges Television (SVT) and took place over the six-week period between 6 February and 12 March 2016.

Sweden participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "If I Were Sorry" written by Oscar Fogelström, Michael Saxell, Fredrik Andersson and Frans Jeppsson-Wall. The song was performed by Frans. In addition to participating in the contest, the Swedish broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT) also hosted the Eurovision Song Contest after winning the competition in 2015 with the song "Heroes" performed by Måns Zelmerlöw. SVT organised the national final Melodifestivalen 2016 in order to select the Swedish entry for the 2016 contest in Stockholm. After a six-week-long competition consisting of four semi-finals, a Second Chance round and a final, "If I Were Sorry" performed by Frans emerged as the winner after achieving the highest score following the combination of votes from eleven international jury groups and a public vote.

The song was released in Sweden as a digital download on 28 February 2016, and was written by Jimmy Jansson, Karl-Ola Kjellholm, Jakke Erixson, Pa Modou Badjie, Njol Badjie, and Nebeyu Baheru. It took part in Melodifestivalen 2016, and qualified to andra chansen from the fourth semi-final. In andra chansen, it qualified to the final. It placed eighth in the final.

If I Were Sorry

"If I Were Sorry" is a song by Swedish singer Frans. The song was released in Sweden as a digital download on 28 February 2016, and was written by Frans along with Fredrik Andersson, Michael Saxell and Oscar Fogelström. It took part in Melodifestivalen 2016, and qualified to the final from the fourth semi-final. It later won the finale with 156 points and represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 where it placed fifth. In the weeks after the semifinal appearance the song charted in the Spotify Viral charts in Switzerland, Taiwan, Iceland, Uruguay, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Spain, the United States, Norway, France, Denmark, Turkey and Germany.

Rollercoaster (Dolly Style song)

"Rollercoaster" is a song by Swedish group Dolly Style. The song was released in Sweden as a digital download on 28 February 2016, and was written by Thomas G:son, Peter Boström, and Alexandra Salomonsson. It is currently taking part in Melodifestivalen 2016, and qualified to the Second Chance round from the fourth semi-final. In andra chansen, it was eliminated.

Melodifestivalen 2019

Melodifestivalen 2019 was the 59th edition of the Swedish music competition Melodifestivalen and was held between 2 February 2019 and 9 March 2019. Presenters were Sarah Dawn Finer, Kodjo Akolor, Marika Carlsson and Eric Saade. Edward af Sillén returned as a consultant and adviser, producing various interval acts for the hosts. The winner of the contest is John Lundvik with the song "Too Late for Love". He represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel, finishing in 5th place.
