Windol C. Weaver is an American politician from Maine. In 2006, Weaver, a Republican, was elected to the Maine House of Representatives from District 150, which included his residence in York, Maine. He was subsequently re-elected in 2008, 2010 and 2012. In 2010, Weaver was appointed chair of the Maine Joint Committee Marine Resources. [1] He was unable to seek re-election in 2014 due to term-limits.

Personal

Weaver graduated from Waco High School in 1959. He attended Texas A&M University and served four tours in Vietnam from 1967 to 1970 and retired from his military career in 1987 as a lieutenant colonel. He and his family moved to York, Maine in 1980 and subsequently became involved in town and county government. [2]

Mark W. Lawrence is an American lawyer and politician from Maine. He was born in Kittery, Maine. A Democrat, Lawrence served in the Maine House of Representatives from 1988 to 2000, first elected while still in law school. After two terms in the House, he was elected to the Maine Senate in 1992. He was elected as the President of the 118th Maine Senate in December 1996 and then elected as President of the 119th Maine Senate in December 1998, serving in that capacity until 2000. He challenged Republican incumbent Olympia Snowe in the 2000 U.S. Senate election and lost. He lost in the Democratic primary for the open seat in the 1st congressional district in 2008. He served from 2003 to 2010 as the York County District Attorney and did not seek re-election in 2010. He returned to private practice in South Berwick, Maine. A member of the Democratic Party, his district, the largest east of the Mississippi River, covers the northern four-fifths of the state, including Lewiston, Bangor and Auburn. Golden is the first member of Congress elected by ranked-choice voting and is considered a moderate Democrat. He was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan as a United States Marine.
