Wired is the third studio album by British rock band Mallory Knox. It was released on March 10, 2017 and is the last album to feature Mikey Chapman on lead vocals.
Prior to joining the 2015 edition of Warped Tour in America, bassist Sam Douglas began to feel stressed. Initially, he presumed it to be burnout, however, upon visiting a doctor, he was prescribed anti-depressants. They made Douglas feel sick, and when Mallory Knox was on Warped Tour, he was "miserable. I didn't want to talk to anyone." [1] The rest of the band was aware of Douglas' mental state, and subsequently held meetings in an attempt to, as vocalist Mikey Chapman describes, "try as a group to help him through." [1]
Following the end of a UK tour in October 2015, the band began writing for Wired. [2] The group initially had only one or two ideas. Douglas explained: "We can't write on the road, we need a rehearsal room ... [It] was daunting because it can take a couple of months to see what direction we're going in." [3] Chapman mentioned that they were under a lot of stress and "were feeling a bit adrift." [3] The band subsequently wrote "Giving It Up" in an hour and a half. The song gave the group "confidence and the vision to see what the record would become." [3]
Recording took place at VADA Studios, on an estate near Birmingham [3] with producer Dan Austin. [4] On working with Austin, drummer Dave Rawling said: "He had so many great ideas on how to do things, and you can only hear by listening to this album like what he really does bring to the table." [5] According to Douglas, the group wanted "something raw and live-sounding ... as if we’ve stood in front of them and played the songs to them." [3] Instead of recording one instrument per week, the group opted to record the songs one-by-one, something that guitarist Joe Savins considered "the most influential thing we've ever done in terms of recording." [6]
Their previous album Asymmetry was recorded by doing drums, then bass, then guitars, then vocals, taking nearly three months to accomplish. Whereas for Wired, the song-by-song approach only took a month to do. [7] The producer had guitarist James Gillett play the songs in their entirety five times over and utilised the best take. [8] In September 2016, Chapman revealed that the group were "starting to get mixes and stuff back now." [9]

Chapman referred to Asymmetry as "almost a diagonal sidestep" from their debut Signals, whereas Wired "really feels like what we really wanted to do with that record ... tak[ing] an intentional step forward." [10] Douglas said that a number of songs deal with anxieties and love, and the "way these are perceived online through our social media connections." [3] According to Douglas, "Giving It Up" is about the "frustration of giving everything to something you're passionate about & truly believe in, only to have other people step in who don’t share the same passion as you and hinder your progress." [11] The lyrics to "California" were inspired during a drive through Florida while on Warped Tour in 2015. According to Chapman, it was from his point-of-view talking to Douglas: "It was me going, 'Look I know you have this perspective right now and it's hard to pull yourself out, but if you could for five minutes you'd see this wonderful situation around you.'" Discussing the album's title-track, Douglas said that when people are going through a "bad phase, go online and see their mates having the time of their lives. Your life feels a bit worse." [12] The aftermath of Douglas' Warped Tour experience was detailed in the tracks "For You" and "Better Off Without You". [13] Douglas described "For You" as a love song for his girlfriend "without going, 'I love you ...' It's more, 'I know I'm a bit fucked up ... but I'm determined to make it better.'" [12] With "Better Off Without You", which also talked about anti-depressant citalopram, [14] Douglas described it as: "For something so personal it all felt very impersonal. Sometimes the biggest part is the realisation that you are fucked up." [15] According to Chapman, "Lucky Me" is about "desire, and the fulfilment of that desire ... Sometimes you just gotta write a song about sex." [16] Referring to "Saviour", Chapman said: "We as a global society require a revolution of the mind in order to take a step out of our dark past and into a future based on scientific fact, technological advancement and positive social progression." [17] Douglas considered "Mother" "a really heartfelt piece of music but in a really up lifting way." [18]

On 2 November 2016, Wired was announced for release, and the album's artwork and track listing was revealed. [11] On the same day, "Giving It Up" was released as a single. [21] On 9 November, a music video was released for "Giving It Up". [22] According to Chapman, the video centres on being addicted to technology and "the fact it brings people much closer together and yet so much further away at the same time." [23] On December 16, a lyric video was released for "Lucky Me", [16] which was released as a single on 13 January 2017. [24] On 20 January, "Better Off Without You" was released as a single. [25] A week later, a music video was released for the song. [26] "Saviour" was made available for streaming on 2 March. [17] Wired was released on 10 March through RCA Records. [11] In March and April, the band went on a headlining tour of the UK [27] with support from Lonely the Brave and Fatherson. [28] As part of Record Store Day 2017, the group released a 7" vinyl consisting of "Wired" and a demo, "89". [29]

"Holiday" is a protest song by American rock band Green Day. It was released as the third single from the group's seventh studio album American Idiot, and is also the third track. The song is in the key of F minor. Though the song is a prelude to "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", "Holiday" was released as a single later on, on March 14, 2005.
So Wrong, It's Right is the second studio album and major label debut by American rock band All Time Low. Following an unsuccessful showcase for Fueled by Ramen, Hopeless Records signed All Time Low in March 2006. They released an EP, Put Up or Shut Up, through the label in July of that year. After amassing 12 songs by January 2007, the band demoed some of them for Paul Leavitt. The group began recording So Wrong, It's Right in April at SOMD Studios in Beltsville, Maryland with producers Leavitt and Matt Squire. The band wrote five additional songs while in the studio. Following an acoustic tour in June, the band participated in Warped Tour, and "Dear Maria, Count Me In" was made available for streaming. After premiering a music video for "Six Feet Under the Stars", So Wrong, It's Right was released on September 25. The band spent the next three months supporting Boys Like Girls on their US tour.

Wishful Thinking is the debut studio album by the Welsh pop punk band Neck Deep. Vocalist Ben Barlow met guitarist Lloyd Roberts when Roberts was working with Barlow's brother, Seb. Following the upload of a song under the artist name Neck Deep, the song gained attention. This attention resulted in the duo obtaining guitarist Matt West, drummer Dani Washington and bassist Fil Thorpe-Evans. The band released two EPs, Rain in July (2012) and A History of Bad Decisions. In March 2013 the band started recording material at Celestial Recordings in Wrexham, where they began recording guitar, bass and vocals. The group then moved to Outhouse Studio in Reading, where they recorded drums. Material was produced by Seb Barlow and the band. In mid-August, the group had signed to Hopeless, and by late August, they announced the album had been finished.
Asymmetry is the second album by British rock band Mallory Knox. It was released on 27 October 2014 via Search and Destroy and Epic Records and was produced by Gil Norton. It is the band's first release after departing from A Wolf at Your Door Records.
The Mindsweep is the fourth studio album by English rock band Enter Shikari, released on 19 January 2015 through Ambush Reality, PIAS Recordings and Hopeless Records. It was recorded in 2014 with producer Dan Weller.
White Noise is the debut studio album by American rock band Pvris. Pvris formed as a five-piece metalcore band in Lowell, Massachusetts in 2012. Following the band becoming a four-piece of vocalist/guitarist Lyndsey Gunnulfsen, guitarist Alex Babinski, bassist Brian MacDonald and drummer Brad Griffin, the group's sound changed. Bringing pop and electronic elements into their music, the band released a self-titled EP. After winning a contest, the band played a week on Warped Tour; following this, Griffin left the band. The group signed with Rise and Velocity Records in June 2014. White Noise was recorded with producer Blake Harnage. Harnage would help co-write several songs on the album with Gunnulfsen; Sierra Kusterbeck helped co-write a few songs with Harnage and Gunnulfsen.

Life's Not out to Get You is the second studio album by Welsh pop punk band Neck Deep. Following the success of their debut album, Wishful Thinking (2014), the majority of the band members quit their day jobs and vocalist Ben Barlow dropped out of university. Working with Jeremy McKinnon, Andrew Wade and Tom Denney, the band recorded their second album between December 2014 and January 2015. Following recording the band immediately went on tour.
Black Lines is the fifth studio album by American rock band Mayday Parade. Recording was done between March and May 2015 with producer Mike Sapone in New York. "Keep in Mind, Transmogrification Is a New Technology" was released as a single in July. "Letting Go" was released as a single in October with the album, released through Fearless, following shortly after. The album charted at number 21 in the United States. This is the last album the band released on Fearless Records.

Night People is the fifth studio album by English rock band You Me at Six. Following an 18-month touring cycle for Cavalier Youth, the group took a break. In the autumn, the group worked on new music at drummer Dan Flint's house, and subsequently tracked demos with Ross Orton. Reconvening in January 2016, the group were in discussions with several different producers before being approached by Jacquire King. The group then went to Nashville, Tennessee to record their new album with King in February. Majority of the album was recorded live-in-the-studio, an approach the group hadn't attempted before. The group returned home to write more material before returning to the studio. Recording subsequently wrapped up in June. Night People was announced in August, followed by the single release of the title-track.
Safe in Sound is the fifth and final studio album by British rock band Lower Than Atlantis. Following the release of Changing Tune (2012), Island Records were streamlining and dropping artists who were underselling. Despite the album underselling, the group couldn't be dropped as the label had picked the option for their next album. The label offered the band the chance to take an advance and leave, which they subsequently did to build a personal studio. Here, the group worked on their next album, Lower Than Atlantis, which was released through Sony Music and supported by successful tours. In early 2015, the band were having discussions with Sony about their next album.
Last Young Renegade is the seventh studio album by American rock band All Time Low. It was released on June 2, 2017, and is their first release with Fueled by Ramen. The lead single, "Dirty Laundry", premiered on BBC Radio 1 on February 17, 2017. The album debuted at number nine on the US Billboard 200, selling 33,000 units in its first week.
