Signals is the debut album by the British rock band Mallory Knox. The album was released on 21 January 2013.
Mallory Knox formed in September 2009. [3] After two months, drummer Dave Rawling, bassist Sam Douglas, and guitarist Joe Savins invited guitarist James Gillett and vocalist Mikey Chapman to a practice session. [2] The group hit it off instantly, as Chapman explains, "Everyone was on the same page; we were all there for the right reasons". [2] All of the members had previously played in locals band prior to Mallory Knox. [2]
Looking back in 2017, Douglas said the group wrote Signals "in the way we did because we were 19 and didn't have much to say." [4] "Creeper" was written during a period when Chapman was growing sick of what was on TV. [5] According to Chapman, "I was watching the House of Commons and seeing them talk over one another and talk shit and just being completely pathetic and pointless and wasting time. It just really wound me up." [5]
The band recorded Signals in three weeks in January 2012. [6] Drums were tracked in a day and a half. [6]
The album was recorded a year before its release. The band waited after the album's recording to gain some radio and press behind the album to back it up so as when it was released it would gain further promotion. [7] A year elapsed before the band decided to release Signals [6] on 21 January 2013 through A Wolf at Your Door. Following this, all of the band members quit their day jobs to focus on Mallory Knox as a full-time project. [2] A deluxe edition was released on 7 October. The bonus tracks that came from the deluxe editions consisted of new tracks and also a re-release of Oceans, previously recorded on their début EP Pilot. [8] [9] For the release of the deluxe edition, the band embarked on a headlining tour across the UK, along with band Blitz Kids and The Crooks as supporting bands. [9] [10] The band performed as part of Warped Tour Australia in November and December. [11]

Signals was met with positive reviews by reviewers. AbsolutePunk stated that the songs from the album were worthy of going on the radio, especially for the likes of the singles released from the album itself. [12]
Ourzone Magazine explained that the album contained a mix of hyper and gentle songs, and that the band fitted into the trend of rock verging on mainstream styling. For this album, Ourzone placed the band at the top 25 bands to watch out for of 2013. [13]
Signals was included on Rock Sound 's "50 Best Albums of 2013" list at number 22. [14]

Enter Shikari are a British rock band formed in St Albans in 1999 by bassist Chris Batten, lead vocalist and keyboardist Rou Reynolds, and drummer Rob Rolfe. In 2003, guitarist Rory Clewlow joined the band to complete its current line-up, and it adopted its current name. In 2006, they performed to a growing fanbase at Download Festival as well as a sold-out concert at the London Astoria. Their debut studio album, Take to the Skies, was released in 2007 and reached number 4 in the Official UK Album Chart, and has since been certified gold in the UK. Their second, Common Dreads, was released in 2009 and debuted on the UK Albums Chart at number 16; while their third, A Flash Flood of Colour, was released in 2012 and debuted on the chart at number 4. Both have since been certified silver in the UK. The band spent a considerable amount of time supporting the latter release through the A Flash Flood of Colour World Tour, before beginning work on a fourth studio album, The Mindsweep, which was released in 2015. Their fifth studio album The Spark was released in 2017. Their sixth album Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible was released in April 2020. Their seventh and latest album, A Kiss for the Whole World, was released on 21 April 2023 which gave them their first-ever No. 1 album.

Lower Than Atlantis were an English rock band from Watford, Hertfordshire. They formed in 2007 as a hardcore punk band and gradually shifted into a rock sound over five studio albums, their last being 2017's Safe in Sound. The band consisted of vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Mike Duce, bassist Declan Hart, drummer Eddy Thrower, and guitarist Ben Sansom. They announced in December 2018 that they would be disbanding after a final 3 tour dates in 2019.
