An extended play (EP) is a musical recording that contains more tracks than a single but fewer than an album or LP record. Contemporary EPs generally contain four to five tracks, and are considered "less expensive and time-consuming" for an artist to produce than an album. An EP originally referred to specific types of records other than 78 rpm standard play (SP) and LP, but it is now applied to mid-length CDs and downloads as well. In K-pop they are usually referred to as mini albums. Ricardo Baca of The Denver Post said, "EPs—originally extended-play 'single' releases that are shorter than traditional albums—have long been popular with punk and indie bands." In the United Kingdom, the Official Chart Company defines a boundary between EP and album classification at 25 minutes of maximum length and no more than four tracks.

Written and co-produced by all four band members and Matt Wignall, it originally came from their third EP Up in Rags (2006) and is the second track off their debut album Robbers & Cowards (2006). Lyrically, the song tells a story of a 'one-sided relationship' and uses the action of hanging wet clothes on a clothesline as a metaphor for the relationship.

The title of this EP is taken from the lyrics of "Hair Down" - "Man, we were still just babies / Dressing up in rags with our wallets full." Up in Rags/With Our Wallets Full is a collection of early recordings by the American indie rock band Cold War Kids. After a surge of internet buzz and a heavy touring schedule in 2006, Cold War Kids packaged their previous two six-song EPs together as a full-length LP. The album consists of the same recordings on Up in Rags and With Our Wallets Full. The album was released on Monarchy Music as a promotional compilation LP of their very rare first two EPs.

The Starlite Desperation is a rock band originally from Monterey, California. Combining elements of garage rock, punk, psychedelic music, goth rock, post punk, glam rock and 60's Pop. They released three full length records, 1 EP, and 3 singles, on several labels, including Gold Standard Laboratories. The founding members were Dante Adrian White, Jeff Ehrenberg, and Dana Lacono. In 1999, the band relocated to Detroit, Michigan and then to Los Angeles, California in 2002. In 2004, their song Born To Be Dizzy was used to close the film, The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things, directed by Asia Argento. The band toured extensively in The United States, Canada and Europe with numerous groups, including Make-Up, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Rapture, The International Noise Conspiracy, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Dirtbombs, The Donnas, The Ponys, and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The group was active from 1995-2008.
Greetings from Less Than Jake is an EP by American ska-punk band Less Than Jake, released on 20 June 2011 on Sleep It Off. Described as the band's "287th release," the EP was released to coincide with their appearance on the Warped Tour 2011, and was subsequently followed by Seasons Greetings from Less Than Jake, in February 2012. In October 2012, the two EPs were combined to create the full-length album, Greetings and Salutations (2012).
