The Women's London Cup (previously the Pemberton Greenish Cup) is an English cricket competition played as a one-off Twenty20 match between Middlesex and Surrey each year since 2015. It was conceived by Surrey's Director of Women's Cricket Ebony Rainford-Brent. Middlesex won the first five editions, before Surrey won at the sixth time of asking in 2020. [1] Middlesex won back the title in 2021, before Surrey claimed their second title in 2022, winning by nine wickets at The Oval. [2] [3] The 2023 edition was abandoned due to rain. The Oval, currently named for sponsorship reasons as the Kia Oval, is an international cricket ground in Kennington, located in the borough of Lambeth, in south London. The Oval has been the home ground of Surrey County Cricket Club since it was opened in 1845. It was the first ground in England to host international Test cricket in September 1880. The final Test match of the English season is traditionally played there.

The Surrey Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Surrey. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, including Reed's School Ground, Cobham, as well as The Oval and Woodbridge Road, Guildford. They are captained by Amy Gordon and coached by Jonathan Batty. The Middlesex Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Middlesex. They play their home games at various grounds, most commonly at Mill Hill School, and are captained by Saskia Horley. They won Division 2 of the Women's County Championship in 2019 and won the Women's Twenty20 Cup in 2018. They are partnered with the regional side Sunrisers.

The 2017 English cricket season was the 118th in which the County Championship had been an official competition. The season, which began on 28 March and ended on 29 September, featured two global one-day competitions played in England and Wales, the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy and the 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup. England Women's team won the World Cup, defeating India in the final at Lord's. Pakistan beat India in the Champions Trophy final.

The 2017 Royal London One-Day Cup tournament was a limited overs cricket competition that forms part of the 2017 domestic cricket season in England and Wales. Matches were contested over 50 overs per side and had List A cricket status. All eighteen First-class counties competed in the tournament which ran from the end of April with the final taking place at Lord's on 1 July. Nottinghamshire won the tournament, defeating Surrey in the final. The defending champions were Warwickshire.

William George Jacks is an English cricketer. He is a right-handed batter and off spin bowler. He made his Test debut against Pakistan in December 2022.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2020 Bob Willis Trophy</span> 2020 cricket tournament

The 2020 Bob Willis Trophy was a first-class cricket tournament held in the 2020 English cricket season, and the inaugural edition of the Bob Willis Trophy. It was separate from the County Championship, which was not held in 2020 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom. The eighteen county cricket teams were split into three regional groups of six, with the two group winners with the most points advancing to a final held at Lord's. The maximum number of overs bowled in a day was reduced from 96 to 90, and the team's first innings could be no longer than 120 overs.

The 2021 Women's Twenty20 Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2021 Vitality Women's County T20, was the 12th cricket Women's Twenty20 Cup tournament, taking place in April and May, with 36 teams taking part: 34 county teams plus Scotland and Wales. There was no overall winner, with Hertfordshire, Nottinghamshire, Lancashire, Kent, Gloucestershire and Somerset winning their respective regions.

The 2021 Royal London One-Day Cup tournament was a limited overs cricket competition that formed part of the 2021 English cricket season in England and Wales. Matches were contested over 50 overs per side, having List A cricket status, with all eighteen first-class counties competing in the tournament. The tournament started on 22 July 2021, with the final taking place on 19 August 2021 at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Somerset were the defending champions winning the 2019 tournament, with no tournament taking place in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
