North East Warriors was the women's representative cricket team for the English historic counties of County Durham and Northumberland. They played their home matches at grounds across the two counties, including Vigo Lane, Washington, County Durham and The Wicket, Hipsburn, Northumberland. [1] They were captained by Laura Ellison. [2]
The team was formed ahead of the 2020 season, with Durham and Northumberland deciding to merge at both youth and senior levels in order to provide a "united high performance pathway" for the region. [3] Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they did not take part in any formal competitions in 2020, only playing friendlies, but went on to compete in the Women's Twenty20 Cup from 2021 onwards and the ECB Women's County One-Day in 2024. [4] [5] They also contributed players to the North Representative XI, and were partnered with the regional team Northern Diamonds. [6] [4] They also played List A matches in the 2024 ECB Women's County One-Day championship, including a match against Yorkshire at the Riverside Ground. [7]
With Durham Women turning professional, the Warriors played their last fixture against Derbyshire at Rockliffe Park in a T20 on 13 August 2024. [8]

The Yorkshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Yorkshire. They play their home games at St George's Road, Harrogate, and are captained by Hollie Armitage. In 2019, they played in Division One of the final season of the Women's County Championship, and have since competed in the Women's Twenty20 Cup. Yorkshire have contributed some players to making up a North Representative XI, and they are partnered with the regional side Northern Diamonds.
The Lancashire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Lancashire. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, including Beaconsfield Road, Widnes. They are coached by Chris Chambers and captained by Eleanor Threlkeld. They won both the County Championship and the Twenty20 Cup in 2017. Lancashire have links with Cumbria, with some players playing for both sides, as well as some of their players making up a North Representative XI in 2021 and 2022. They are partnered with the regional side North West Thunder.

They play their home games at various grounds across the two counties, often in Loughborough, Leicester or Empingham. They are captained by Rebecca Brooker. In 2019, they played in Division Three of the final season of the Women's County Championship, and have since competed in the Women's Twenty20 Cup. They played their home games at Stocksfield Cricket Club Ground, Stocksfield. They competed in the Women's County Championship from 1998 to 2019 and in the Women's Twenty20 Cup from 2009 to 2018. In 2020, it was announced that Northumberland was merging its team with Durham, becoming North East Warriors. They are partnered with the regional side Northern Diamonds.

They play their home games across the county, and are captained by Izzy Gurney. They consistently played in the bottom tier of the Women's County Championship until the competition ended, and they now play only in the Women's Twenty20 Cup. They are partnered with the regional side Southern Vipers.
The Lincolnshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Lincolnshire. They play their home matches at various grounds across the county, and are captained by Lauren Tuffrey. After joining the Women's County Championship in 2015, they competed in Division Three in the final season of the tournament in 2019. They have since competed in the Women's Twenty20 Cup. The Huntingdonshire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Huntingdonshire. They play their home games at Cricketfield Lane in Ramsey, and are captained by Lottie Taylor. In the Women's County Championship, Huntingdonshire played as a combined team with Cambridgeshire, as Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire Women, but the two counties played separately in the 2014 Women's Twenty20 Cup, and Cambridgeshire have competed individually in the Twenty20 tournament since. In 2021, Huntingdonshire re-joined the Women's Twenty20 Cup, after playing in the East of England Championship in 2020. They are partnered with the regional side Sunrisers.

Rachel Hannah Marie Hopkins is an English cricketer who currently plays for North East Warriors. An all-rounder, she is a right-handed batter and right-arm medium bowler. She previously played for Northern Diamonds, Derbyshire and Durham, before they were succeeded by North East Warriors. She is also a High Performance Coach of North East Warriors.
The North Representative XI were a women's cricket team made up of players from across Northern England. They were formed in 2021 to take part in the Women's Twenty20 Cup, becoming the sixth team in the North Group to give the group an even number of teams: they finished 3rd, with 3 wins. They continued to compete in the 2022 Women's Twenty20 Cup, finishing sixth in their group of seven, but were removed from the competition ahead of the 2023 Women's Twenty20 Cup. Their squad included players from Lancashire, Cheshire, Cumbria, North East Warriors and Yorkshire, and they therefore had links with the regional sides North West Thunder and Northern Diamonds.
The 2022 Women's Twenty20 Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2022 Vitality Women's County T20, was the 13th edition of the Women's Twenty20 Cup, an English women's cricket Twenty20 domestic competition. It took place in April and May 2022, with 35 teams taking part, organised into eight regional groups. There was no overall winner, with Lancashire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Suffolk, Leicestershire and Rutland, Sussex, Middlesex and Devon winning their individual groups.
