Working!!,released in the US as Wagnaria!!,is a Japanese four-panel comic strip manga series written and illustrated by Karino Takatsu,which follows the activities of the unusual employees at one of the units of the Wagnaria family restaurant chain. The series was serialized in Square Enix's Young Gangan seinen manga magazine between January 2005 and November 2014. Square Enix released three drama CDs between 2007 and 2009 with scripts written by Shōgo Mukai. An anime television series was produced by A-1 Pictures and directed by Yoshimasa Hiraike,airing in three seasons in 2010,2011,and 2015,respectively. In North America,the first two anime seasons are licensed by NIS America while the third is licensed by Aniplex of America.
The series is a spin-off of an earlier webcomic also titled Working!!,later published in print form as Web-ban Working!!,set in another Wagnaria restaurant and following a different group of characters. It was adapted into an anime series titled WWW.Working!! in 2016. It is licensed by Aniplex of America.
Working!! had its origins in a web comic written and illustrated by Karino Takatsu also called Working!!,which she published in irregular intervals on her personal website from 2002 to 2013. This web comic was published in print in six volumes from 2015 to 2017,under the title Web-ban Working!!. The web comic's setting and characters are different from the later four-panel comic strip manga,which was serialized from January 2005 to November 2014 issues of Square Enix's Young Gangan manga magazine. While the restaurant in the web comic and manga are both called Wagnaria,they are different branch stores,so the world is the same. For example,KenichirōSakaki (榊研一郎,Sakaki Kenichrō),the web comic's store manager,is an old friend of Kyōko Shirafuji and Masahiro Adachi (足立正広,Adachi Masahiro) from the web comic is a bandmate of Jun Satōfrom the Young Gangan version. The author called the web comic version Cat Group (猫組,Neko-gumi) and the serialized manga version Dog Group (犬組,Inu-gumi). Square Enix published 13 tankōbon volumes between November 25,2005 and December 25,2014. [5] [6] [7] Ten additional chapters have been released via mobile phones. The manga has been licensed for release in Chinese in Taiwan by Tong Li Publishing. [8] Takatsu launched a biweekly web version of Working!! on October 16,2009 to commemorate the anime series and posts the manga on the anime's official website. [9] [10]
Square Enix released three drama CDs under the title Young Gangan Book In CD Working!!,with scenarios written by Shōgo Mukai. The first volume,released on January 25,2007,came bundled with a 96-page booklet with bonus manga and the scenario included. [11] The second and third volumes,released on April 25,2008 and March 25,2009 respectively,also came bundled with similar booklets. [12] [13] The voice acting cast for the anime is different from the drama CDs.
An Internet radio show to promote the anime series titled Yamaking!! aired 13 episodes between May 21 and October 29,2010,and was hosted by RyōHirohashi,the voice actress of Aoi Yamada. The show restarted with the title Yamaking'!! on October 7,2011.
The anime television series' 13-episode first season, produced by A-1 Pictures and directed by Yoshimasa Hiraike, aired in Japan between April 4 and June 26, 2010 on Tokyo MX; [14] the first episode having a special pre-broadcast on March 6, 2010 on Tokyo MX. NIS America licensed the anime under the title Wagnaria!!, and an English-subtitled DVD box set was released on March 24, 2011. [15] The anime's opening theme is "Someone Else" by Kana Asumi, Saki Fujita and Eri Kitamura (the three female leads). The ending theme is "Heart no Edge ni Idomō Go to Heart Edge" (ハートのエッジに挑もう Go to Heart Edge) by Jun Fukuyama, Daisuke Ono and Hiroshi Kamiya (the three male leads). The special ending theme for episode nine is "Golden Day" (ゴールデン・デイ) by Saki Fujita.
A second season, titled Working'!! (with an apostrophe), began airing on October 1, 2011, after a September 3, 2011 preview airing. [16] Crunchyroll did a simulcast of the series. The second season's opening theme is "Coolish Walk" by Asumi, Fujita and Kitamura, while the ending theme is "Always Love & Peace!!" (いつものようにLOVE&PEACE!!, Itsumo no Yōni LOVE&PEACE!!) by Fukuyama, Ono and Kamiya.
A third anime season [17] titled Working!!! premiered on July 4, 2015. It is also streamed online with English subtitles on Aniplex Channel, Crunchyroll, Hulu, Daisuki and Viewster. [18] The third season's opening theme is "Now!!! Gamble" by Asumi, Fujita and Kitamura, while the ending theme is "Matsuge ni Lock" (まつ毛にLOCK, Lock with your Eyelashes) by Fukuyama, Ono and Kamiya.
WWW.Working!!, an anime adaptation of Web-ban Working!!, the print release of the webcomic predecessor of the manga, premiered on October 1, 2016 on Tokyo MX and other television networks. [4] A-1 Pictures and Yumi Kamakura returned to produce and direct the series, respectively. [2] The opening theme song, titled "Eyecatch! Too Much!", is performed by Haruka Tomatsu, Yōko Hikasa and Sora Amamiya, while the ending theme song, titled "Mujūryoku Fever", is performed by Yūichi Nakamura, Kōki Uchiyama and Kenshō Ono. The fourth manga volume of Working!! was the seventh highest-selling manga volume in Japan for the week of October 23–29, 2007. [21] The sixth manga volume was the sixth-highest selling manga volume in Japan for the week of March 24–30, 2009, having sold over 73,000 volumes that week. [22]

Kirarin Revolution is a Japanese manga series by An Nakahara. The series ran in the shōjo manga magazine Ciao from March 2004 to June 2009, with side stories running in Pucchigumi in 2006. The manga has sold a cumulative total of over 10 million copies. It was awarded Best Children's Manga at the 2006 Shogakukan Manga Awards.
Enchanter is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Izumi Kawachi. It was serialized in October 2002 in Square Enix's magazine Monthly Gangan Wing and later licensed in North America by Digital Manga. The manga was adapted into 2 drama CDs.
Aki Sora is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masahiro Itosugi. It was first published in September 2007 by Akita Shoten. It started serialization in the ninth volume and was concluded in Volume 25 of Akita Shoten's seinen manga magazine Champion Red Ichigo. An OVA adaptation by Hoods Entertainment was released with the third volume of the manga on December 17, 2008. A second OVA adaptation, called Aki Sora ~Yume no Naka~ (あきそら~夢の中~) was released by Pony Canyon in two parts; the first part released on July 30, 2009, and the second part released on November 17, 2009. In April 2011, Itosugi announced that there will be no more printings of volumes 1 and 3 due to Bill 156.
Sweet Blue Flowers is a Japanese yuri manga series written and illustrated by Takako Shimura. It was serialized between November 2004 and July 2013 in Ohta Publishing's manga magazine Manga Erotics F, with its chapters collected in eight tankōbon volumes. The story focuses on Fumi Manjōme, a lesbian high school girl, and her close childhood friend Akira Okudaira, who tries to keep her friends happy through difficult times.
Hybrid Child is a one-shot Japanese manga written and illustrated by Shungiku Nakamura; the creator of Junjou Romantica. It is licensed in North America by Digital Manga Publishing, which released the manga through its imprint, June, on August 16, 2006. A drama CD was released by Marine Entertainment in 2005. An OVA adaptation of the manga was announced as being in development in 2011, and the first of four OVAs released in 2014.
Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father! is a Japanese light novel series written by Tomohiro Matsu and illustrated by Yuka Nakajima. It was published by Shueisha's Super Dash Bunko imprint, with 18 volumes released from December 2009 to March 2015. Following Matsu's death in May 2016, a posthumous volume, subtitled After 1, was released in July of that same year.
Tari Tari is a 2012 Japanese anime television series produced by P.A. Works, written and directed by Masakazu Hashimoto. The series aired in Japan between July 1 and September 23, 2012, on TV Kanagawa, and was also simulcast by Crunchyroll. The series is licensed in North America by Sentai Filmworks. A manga adaptation illustrated by Tomiyaki Kagisora was serialized in Square Enix's Gangan Joker in 2012.
Ebiten: Kōritsu Ebisugawa Kōkō Tenmonbu is a Japanese comedy manga series by Kira Inugami and SCA-ji, serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Comp Ace magazine. Three volumes have been released as of June 2012. A 10-episode original net animation adaptation by AIC ran on niconico between July and September, 2012. Following the ONA series, an OVA episode was bundled with the fourth volume of the manga, released in December 2012. The series has been licensed by Sentai Filmworks in North America.
Shitsuren Chocolatier, also known by its French subtitle Un chocolatier de l'amour perdu, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Setona Mizushiro. It was serialized in Shogakukan's Rinka magazine starting in 2008, moving to Monthly Flowers magazine in 2010 where it completed its serialization in 2014. Shogakukan collected the individual chapters into nine bound volumes published from January 2009 to February 2015. The manga was also adapted into a live-action Japanese television drama starring Arashi's Jun Matsumoto in the lead role. It aired for eleven episodes on Fuji TV from January to March 2014.
One Week Friends is a manga series by Matcha Hazuki. It was serialized in Square Enix's Gangan Joker magazine between January 21, 2012 and January 22, 2015. It was first published as a one-shot manga in the magazine's September 2011 issue. The series has since been collected in seven tankōbon volumes. An anime television series adaptation by Brain's Base aired between April 6 and June 22, 2014. Sentai Filmworks licensed the rights to the show in North America and by Madman Entertainment in Australia and New Zealand. A live-action film of the same name was released in February 2017.
The Comic Artist and His Assistants is a Japanese four-panel manga series written and illustrated by Hiroyuki. It was serialized in Square Enix's seinen manga magazine Young Gangan from February 1, 2008 to September 21, 2012 and the chapters collected into 10 tankōbon volumes. A sequel titled The Comic Artist and His Assistants 2 was serialized from August 2, 2013 to June 6, 2014. An anime television series adaptation animated by Zexcs aired between April 7, 2014 and June 23, 2014.
Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun is a Japanese four-panel manga series written and illustrated by Izumi Tsubaki. The chapters are serialized online in Gangan Online and have been published in tankōbon volumes by Square Enix. An anime adaptation produced by Doga Kobo aired from July to September 2014.
Shirobako is a 24-episode anime television series produced by P.A. Works and directed by Tsutomu Mizushima. It aired in Japan between October 9, 2014, and March 26, 2015. A manga adaptation began serialization in ASCII Media Works's Dengeki Daioh magazine in September 2014, and a novel was published by Shueisha in January 2015. An anime film premiered on February 29, 2020.
Hori-san to Miyamura-kun is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiroki Adachi, under the pseudonym Hero. It was self-published as a webcomic on Hero's website, Dokkai Ahen, from February 2007 to December 2011 in a four-panel format. The series received a print publication by Square Enix, who compiled the chapters in ten tankōbon volumes under its imprint Gangan Comics from October 2008 to December 2011. Additional side-story chapters were compiled in fifteen volumes from July 2012 to July 2021 as Hori-san to Miyamura-kun Omake.
Servamp is a Japanese manga series by Strike Tanaka, serialized in Media Factory's shōjo manga magazine Monthly Comic Gene since 2011. It has been collected into twenty-one tankōbon volumes. The series is licensed in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment. An anime television adaptation began airing on July 5, 2016, and concluded on September 20, 2016, with 12 episodes.
Super Lovers is a Japanese yaoi manga series published in the magazine Emerald by Miyuki Abe, author of Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East. An anime adaptation premiered in April 2016. A second season premiered in January 2017.
Call of the Night is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kotoyama. It was serialized in Shogakukan's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Sunday from August 2019 to January 2024. In North America, the manga is licensed for English release by Viz Media. An anime television series adaptation produced by Liden Films aired from July to September 2022 on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block. A second season has been announced.
