Wu Guanghui (born 7 February 1960) is a Chinese engineer specializing in aircraft design, currently serving as deputy general manager of the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd. He is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE). [1]

Biography

Wu was born in Wuhan, Hubei, on 7 February 1960. [1] During the Down to the Countryside Movement, he became a sent-down youth in Caidian District. [2] In 1978, he was admitted to Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, majoring in aircraft design. [1] [2]

After graduating in 1982, he was dispatched to the 603rd Institute of Ministry of Aeronautics Industry, where he successively as a designer, deputy director, and director. [1] [2] In March 2008, he was promoted to deputy general manager of the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd and chief designer of C919 passenger aircraft. [1] [2]

He was a representative of the 17th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party. [3] He was a member of the 11th and 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. [3] He is a delegate to the 13th National People's Congress. [3]

Wu Zhonghua, also known as Chung-Hua Wu, was a Chinese physicist. He was a National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) researcher, Tsinghua University professor, and Founding Director of the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He pioneered the general theory of three-dimensional flow for turbomachinery, which has been widely used in aircraft engine designs. Wu and his wife Li Minhua were both academicians of the CAS.

Gu Songfen is a Chinese aircraft designer. He participated in the design of the Shenyang JJ-1, China's first jet trainer. He was the chief designer of the Shenyang J-8 and J-8II, China's first high-speed, high-altitude interceptor fighter jets. He served as vice president and chief designer of the Shenyang Aircraft Design Institute and is an academician of both the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

Wu Ziliang, also known as Tsu-Liang Wu, was a Chinese materials engineer, physical metallurgist, and physicist. He led the team that developed the essential membrane separation technology which enabled China to separate uranium-235 used for making its first nuclear bomb. He was awarded the Two Bombs, One Satellite Meritorious Medal in 1999, and also made significant contributions to steel metallurgy, semiconductors, and superconductivity research. Wu was a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
