Wuhan Conservatory of Music is a musical institution of higher learning located in Wuhan City, Hubei Province whose origins can be traced back to 1920 and the Wuchang College of Art located in the Hunan and Hubei College site. [1]

Wuhan is the capital of Hubei province, People's Republic of China. It's the most populous city in Central China, and one of the nine National Central Cities of China. It lies in the eastern Jianghan Plain on the middle reaches of the Yangtze River's intersection with the Han river. Arising out of the conglomeration of three cities, Wuchang, Hankou, and Hanyang, Wuhan is known as 'China's Thoroughfare'; it is a major transportation hub, with dozens of railways, roads and expressways passing through the city and connecting to other major cities. Because of its key role in domestic transportation, Wuhan is sometimes referred to as "the Chicago of China" by foreign sources.

Hubei Province

Hubei is a province of the People's Republic of China, located in the Central China region. The name of the province means "north of the lake", referring to its position north of Dongting Lake. The provincial capital is Wuhan, a major transportation thoroughfare and the political, cultural, and economic hub of Central China.

Its history dates back to 1920, making it the first private art school in modern China. Wuhan University of Technology, located in Wuchang District and Luonan Subdistrict, Hongshan District in Wuhan, Hubei, China, was merged on May 27, 2000, from three universities: Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan Transportation University and Wuhan Automotive Polytechnic University. WUT is one of the leading Chinese universities accredited by the Ministry of Education and one of the universities constructed in priority by the "State Project 211" for Chinese higher education institutions. The Professional Arts Consortium is an association of six Boston, Massachusetts institutions of higher education which emphasize the visual, applied, and performing arts. The consortium allows for shared resources, such as libraries, between member schools. Students of member schools may also cross-register for courses in any other member school.
