Xestia fennica is a species of moth belonging to the family Noctuidae. [1]

Elias Lönnrot was a Finnish physician, philologist and collector of traditional Finnish oral poetry. He is best known for creating the Finnish national epic, Kalevala, (1835, enlarged 1849), from short ballads and lyric poems gathered from the Finnish oral tradition during several expeditions in Finland, Russian Karelia, the Kola Peninsula and Baltic countries.
MSV Fennica is a Finnish multipurpose icebreaker and offshore support vessel. Built in 1993 by Finnyards in Rauma, Finland and operated by Arctia Offshore, she was the first Finnish icebreaker designed to be used as an escort icebreaker in the Baltic Sea during the winter months and in offshore construction projects during the open water season. Fennica has an identical sister ship, Nordica, built in 1994.
The Finnish Society of Sciences and Letters is a Finnish academy for natural sciences, social sciences and humanities. Cristfried Ganander was a Finnish compiler of folk culture, a priest and an 18th-century lexicographer. Ganander's greatest achievement was the compilation of the first fully extensive Finnish-language dictionary which was, however, unpublished. He was also a collector of folk culture well before Elias Lönnrot. His most well-known published work is Mythologia Fennica in 1789, a reference book of folk religion. He also published some poetry and worked as a teacher.

It has a Holarctic distribution from Newfoundland through western Europe, Siberia, the Far East, Mongolia, northern China to Korea and Japan. In North America it is mainly found in the boreal region, south to New England, southern Montana and northern Oregon.
Acta Philosophica Fennica is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Philosophical Society of Finland. The journal was established in 1935. From 1968 to 1981 it was distributed by North-Holland Publishing, and since 1981 by the Academic Bookstore (Helsinki). The Acta Philosophica Fennica covers all areas of philosophy. Originally, the journal was published in German, but nowadays the articles are in English.

Ornis Fennica is a peer-reviewed open access scholarly journal publishing research articles on the ecology, behaviour, biogeography and conservation of birds. It is a journal published by BirdLife Finland. The current editor-in-chief is Suvi Ruuskanen.
Edvard August Vainio was a Finnish lichenologist. His early works on the lichens of Lapland, his three-volume monograph on the lichen genus Cladonia, and, in particular, his study of the classification and form and structure of lichens in Brazil made Vainio renowned internationally in the field of lichenology.
