Yang Chengxu is a senior Chinese diplomat to German-speaking countries.

He was born in Qingdao in 1930 and later moved to Shanghai with his family. [1] In 1952, he received his bachelor's degree in German Literature from Fudan University and started to work for the All-China Journalists Association. In 1962, Yang was sent to the Xinhua News Agency-founded Foreign Languages Institute to take advanced training courses. [2] In 1973, he joined the Chinese Foreign Ministry and served successively as Secretary, Counsellor and Minister-Counsellor in Chinese Embassies in Federal Republic of Germany and German Democratic Republic. [3]

In 1985, he was appointed Chinese Ambassador to Austria and was succeeded by Hu Benyao in 1989. [4] He was then appointed director of the Department of Policy Planning and deputy director of the Department of West European Affairs of the Foreign Ministry.

From May 1993, he succeeded Du Gong as President of the China Institute of International Studies and was relieved from the position in November 2001. [5] He also chaired PECC China, the China National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation (CNCPEC) from 1995 to 2005. [6]

Hennadiy Udovenko

Hennadiy Yosypovych Udovenko was a Ukrainian politician and diplomat. He served as the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, was the 52nd President of the United Nations General Assembly (1997–1998) and a Member of the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) of Ukraine (1998–2007). He was from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. He has studied international relations at Kyiv University, having graduated in 1954. He also did graduate studies in agricultural economics at the Ukrainian Research and the Development Institute for Agricultural Economy and Organization from 1956 to 1959.

Alexander Vladimirovich Yakovenko

Alexander Vladimirovich Yakovenko is a Russian diplomat. He served as the Ambassador of Russia to the United Kingdom between January 2011 and August 2019. Since August 2019, he has been rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is a former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia. While working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow, he was in charge of multilateral diplomacy. A graduate of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations in 1976, he later gained a Doctor of Law degree. Yakovenko holds the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, and speaks Russian, English and French.

Ali Abeid Amani Karume, Tanzanian Ambassador to Italy and Dean of Tanzania Ambassadors, is a Tanzanian diplomat. He is the son of Zanzibar's first president, Sheikh Abeid Amani Karume and a member of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party since its inception in 1977.
