Yangon, formerly romanized as Rangoon, is the capital of the Yangon Region and the largest city of Myanmar. Yangon served as the capital of Myanmar until 2006, when the military government relocated the administrative functions to the purpose-built capital city of Naypyidaw in north central Myanmar. With over five million people, Yangon is Myanmar's most populous city and its most important commercial centre.

Like all legally operating radio stations in Myanmar, such as Yangon City FM and Mandalay City FM, Myanmar Radio is under state management.

He previously served as the acting president after the resignation of President Htin Kyaw on 21 March 2018, and the chief minister of Yangon Region from 30 March 2011 to 30 March 2016. Basic Education High School (BEHS) No. 6 Botataung, located a few miles east of downtown Yangon in Botataung township, is a public high school, and one of the oldest high schools in Myanmar. The school initially offered three kindergarten classes - Lower, Middle, Higher known as LKG, MKG, HKG and First through Tenth Standard. It now offers classes from kindergarten to Tenth Standard.
Zaykabar Company Limited is a major Burmese conglomerate with interests in construction and telecommunications. The company was founded by Khin Shwe in 1990. Zaykabar and its owner Khin Shwe have been placed on the American sanctions list since 2007, for its close ties with the Burmese military.

Phyo Min Thein is a Burmese politician and former political prisoner who served as Chief Minister of Yangon Region and Yangon Region Parliament from 2016 to 2021. He also served as a MP for Hlegu Township Constituency No. 2. Prior to this, he was the chairman of Union Democratic Party and founder of the People Democracy Party which was later merged with Union Democratic Party.
Myanmar Idol is a popular Myanmar singing contest television series that is broadcast on MNTV. Its first season, in 2015, was described by The Myanmar Times as a "wild success". Due to its popularity, it has been extended for a fifth season in 2020. Since Season 3, the competition format has utilized a wild card during the top 4+1 show.
Bobby Soxer also Htet Htet is a Burmese singer, songwriter, composer, actress and fashion model. She is considered one of the early female hip-hop vocalists in Myanmar and has been dubbed as the "Myanmar's Hip Hop Queen".

Eternal Gosh! is a Burmese pop rock band, founded in 2013. Their music spans a wide range of genres, from pop rock, to alternative rock, to alternative metal.
Kyaw Kyaw Bo is a Myanmar Academy Award winning Burmese actor, singer, traditional dancer and sometime comedian with the Burmese traditional anyeint troupe Htawara Hninzi. He won the 2018 Myanmar Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor with the film Clinging with Hate. He is best known for his role in the film A Story Long Ago (2010) and The Dark Cinema (2019). Throughout his career, he has acted in over 300 films.
Yair Yint Aung is a Burmese singer-songwriter and actor. He is considered one of the most successful Burmese singers and rose to fame with his album "A Mone Diary".
The Yangon City FM Music Awards are annual music awards organised by Yangon City FM, a radio station owned by the Yangon City Development Committee, the city's municipal corporation. The awards ceremony is held at the Myanmar Convention Centre. The highly coveted awards were first held in 2002. Several awards are given on the basis of albums sales volumes in the Yangon metropolitan region.
