Yendi Airport( ICAO : DGLY) is an airport serving Yendi, a town in the Northern Region of Ghana.

Yaa Naa Yakubu Andani II (1945–2002) was the King of Dagbon, the traditional kingdom of the Dagomba people in northern Ghana, from 31 May 1974 until his assassination on 27 March 2002. He was born in August 1945 in Sagnarigu, a suburb of Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana. Yakubu II was killed on 27 March 2002 at Yendi, the capital of the Kingdom of Dagbon, by unknown people when clashes broke out between the two feuding Gates of Dagbon Kingship. For 600 years the Abudu and Andani clans, named after two sons of the ancient Dagbon king Ya Naa Yakubu I, cordially rotated control of the kingdom centred in Yendi, 530 kilometres (330 mi) north of Accra, the capital of Ghana. A regent acted as sovereign of the kingdom until 18 January 2019 when a new ruler is chosen to occupy the revered Lion Skins of Yendi.
Yendi , is the traditional capital of the Kingdom of Dagbon and the administrative centre of the Yendi Municipal District in the Northern Region of Ghana. As of 2021, the population of Yendi was 154,421 comprising 76,142 males and 78,279 females. It is the seat of the King of the Dagbon, Ghana's oldest kingdom.

He was Minister of Interior, but resigned in 2002 amid accusations of backing one of the sides in a violent Chieftaincy conflict in Yendi which led to the death of Yakubu II.

Yendi is a fantasy novel by American writer Steven Brust, the second book in his Vlad Taltos series; it is a prequel to the first novel, Jhereg. Originally printed in 1984 by Ace Books, it was reprinted in 1999 in the omnibus The Book of Jhereg along with Jhereg and Teckla. Following the trend of the Vlad Taltos books, it is named after one of the Great Houses in Brust's world of Dragaera and features that House as an important element to its plot. Yendi is Brust's least favorite book.
Yendi Amira Phillipps is a Jamaican of Afro-European heritage, model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Jamaica World 2007 as well as the Miss Jamaica Universe 2010 pageant. She represented Jamaica at Miss World 2007 held in Sanya, China and then later at Miss Universe 2010 held at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, U.S. on 23 August 2010 where she finished as the first runner up. After Miss Universe, Phillipps appeared in commercials for brands such as Toyota.

Yendi Municipal District is one of the sixteen districts in Northern Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as Yendi District, which was created from the former East Dagomba District Council, until it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on 29 February 2008 to become Yendi Municipal District. However, on 28 June 2012, the western part of the district was later split to create Mion District with the remaining part retained as Yendi Municipal District. The municipality is located in the central part of Northern Region and has Yendi as its capital town.
Yendi is one of the constituencies represented in the Parliament of Ghana. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. It is located in the Northern Region of Ghana. Sulemana Ibun Iddrisu represented the constituency in the 5th Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana. He was elected on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and won a majority of 617 votes more than candidate closest in the race, to win the constituency. He succeeded Malik Al-Hassan Yakubu who had represented the constituency in parliament from 1997 to 2009 on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Mohammed Habib Tijani of the New Patriotic Party succeeded Ibun Iddrisu, when he won against him in the 2012 Elections.

The N2 or National Highway 2 is a national highway in Ghana that begins at the Tema Motorway interchange at Tema and runs through Hohoe, Nkwanta, Yendi, and Bawku to the border with Burkina Faso at Kulungugu. It is the main north-south highway in the eastern corridor of the country, with a total distance of 640 kilometres (400 mi). The route runs through the Greater Accra, Eastern, Volta, Oti, Northern, North East Region and Upper East regions of Ghana.
Yendi Senior High School(YESS) is a coeducational secondary school in Yendi in the Northern Region of Ghana. The school was established in 1970, first as a middle-boarding school to enable access to basic education for communities in the Eastern Corridor enclave, before being upgraded in September of the same year to the status of a secondary school. For the first academic year, the school had only a total student population of 77, with 70 boys and seven girls. The first headmaster of the school was Cletus Bernard Teviu. He headed the school for nearly a decade, spanning between 1970 and 1979, and one of the hostels in the school has been named in his honour. In the year 2020 when the school celebrated its 50th anniversary, the total student population was 2,724 and the number of teachers was 121. The school operates as a boarding school, but few students attend as day students.
Abibata Shanni Mahama Zakariah was born in Yendi and is the daughter of Alhaji Shanni Mahama, who was a former MP for Yendi Constituency and a Deputy Minister for Agriculture in the government of former prime minister K. A. Busia. She was appointed Deputy CEO of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) in 2017 and got elevated to the position of substantive Chief Executive in September 2021 after her immediate boss, Stephen Amoah, left to start a career as Parliamentarian for the Nhyiaso Constituency.

East Dagomba District is a former district council that was located in Northern Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1975. However, on 1988, it was split off into four new district assemblies: Yendi Municipal District, Gushegu-Karaga District, Saboba-Chereponi District and Zabzugu-Tatale District. The district assembly was located in the eastern part of Northern Region and had Yendi as its capital town.
