Texas is a Scottish rock band from Glasgow, founded in 1986 by Johnny McElhone, Ally McErlaine, and Sharleen Spiteri. Texas made their performing debut in March 1988 at the University of Dundee. They took their name from the 1984 Wim Wenders movie Paris, Texas. The band released their debut album Southside in 1989, along with the debut single "I Don't Want a Lover", which was a top-ten hit on the UK Singles Chart and peaked within the top ten of the charts in many other European countries. Southside entered at number three on the UK Albums Chart and number 88 on the Billboard 200 album chart in the United States, and sold over two million copies worldwide. Despite the success of Southside, the follow-up albums Mothers Heaven (1991) and Ricks Road (1993) were less successful, peaking at number 32 and number 18 on the UK Albums Chart respectively, but achieved moderate success on various European markets.
"No Woman, No Cry" is a reggae song by Bob Marley and the Wailers. The song was recorded in 1974 and released on the studio album Natty Dread.
"Low" is a song by American singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson from her debut album, Thankful (2003). The song was written by Jimmy Harry and produced by Clif Magness. It was released as the album's second official single, on August 3, 2003, while it was also released as a double A-side single with "The Trouble with Love Is" in the United Kingdom. This release reached only number 35, but "Low" was more successful in Australia and Canada, reaching numbers 11 and two, respectively, while also peaking at number 58 in the United States. The song received favorable reviews from music critics who complimented her vocals and the song's lyrics. On March 5, 2013, Billboard ranked the song at number 90 in its list of "Top 100 American Idol Hits of All Time".
"Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" is a single written, recorded and sung by American singer Michael Jackson. Released under Epic Records on July 10, 1979, the song is the first track on Jackson's fifth studio album Off the Wall (1979). It was the first solo recording over which Jackson had creative control.
"Ladies' Night" is a song by American band Kool & the Gang, released as the first single from their eleventh album of the same name (1979). It is a play on the popular use of "Ladies Nights" at bars and clubs that were meant to draw in more female patrons in order to draw in even more male clientele.
"I Changed My Mind" is a song by American R&B recording artist Keyshia Cole, recorded for her debut album, The Way It Is (2005). It was written by the singer along with John Legend and Kanye West, while production on the track was helmed by the latter. Released on November 9, 2004 as the lead single from the album, it was mildly successful commercially, peaking at number 71 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 23 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts.
"I Don't Want Your Love" is a song by English rock band Duran Duran, released on 19 September 1988 as the first single from their fifth studio album, Big Thing (1988). As with the album, the band's name was rendered on the artwork as Duranduran.
"Water Runs Dry" is a song by American vocal harmony group Boyz II Men, written and produced by Babyface. The single, the fourth released from the album II, reached number two in the United States and number four in Canada. It also contains a version of the group's previous number one hit from the same album, "I'll Make Love to You". A Spanish version, "No dejemos que muera el amor", was also recorded and peaked at number 10 on the US Latin Pop Airplay chart.
"This Groove" is a song by British singer Victoria Beckham, recorded for her unreleased second studio album. It was written by Alisha Brooks, David Conley, David Frank, Everett "Jam" Benton and Mic Murphy, with Damon Dash, Conley and Frank serving as producers. Telstar Records released the song on 29 December 2003 in the United Kingdom as a double A-side with "Let Your Head Go". In 2004, it was included on the video album The 'Réal' Beckhams, after her record company went bankrupt before it surfaced. The song is Beckham's last single released to date. "This Groove" is an R&B and hip hop song which samples The System's "Don't Disturb This Groove"; lyrically it deals with phone sex.
"My Oh My" is a song by British rock band Slade, released in November 1983 as the second single from the band's 11th studio album, The Amazing Kamikaze Syndrome, and in 1984 as the second single from the album's US counterpart, Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply. The song was written by lead vocalist Noddy Holder and bassist Jim Lea and produced by John Punter. "My Oh My" reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart, topped the charts of Norway and Sweden, and peaked at No. 37 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
"Hidden Agenda" is a song by English singer Craig David. It was written by David and producer Mark Hill for his second studio album, Slicker Than Your Average (2002). The song was released on 6 January 2003 as the album's second single and became his eighth top-10 hit in the United Kingdom, peaking at number 10 and spending six weeks inside the UK top 75. After the change in sound between his debut album, Born to Do It, and "What's Your Flava?", the lead single from Slicker Than Your Average, "Hidden Agenda" returned David to the sound for which he was known for in his worldwide hits such as "7 Days" and "Walking Away" and re-united him with Artful Dodger record producer Mark Hill.
"World Filled with Love" is a song by British singer Craig David. It was written by David and Fraser T. Smith for his second studio album, Slicker Than Your Average (2002). The song served as the album's fifth UK and the fourth worldwide single. It became David's first single to miss the UK top 10, breaking his run of 10 consecutive top-10 hits, peaking at number 15 on the UK Singles Chart. In Australia, it became his second-lowest charting single, whereas in France, it is his lowest-charting. "World Filled with Love" was the final single taken from the album in France. One further single was released in both the United Kingdom and Australia.
"All the Way" is a song recorded by the British singer Craig David. It was written by David and Mark Hill his third studio album, The Story Goes... (2005), while production was helmed by Hill. It was released on 8 August 2005 as the album's lead single, his first single he released with new label Warner Bros. Records after Wildstar Records went bankrupt. After missing the top ten with previous singles "World Filled with Love" and "You Don't Miss Your Water ", "All the Way" returned David to the top three. It was the highest-charting single from The Story Goes... but not the biggest-selling as "Don't Love You No More " spent over double the number of weeks inside the UK top 75.
"Don't Love You No More (I'm Sorry)" is a song by British singer Craig David. It was written by David and Mark Hill for his third album The Story Goes... (2005). "Don't Love You No More (I'm Sorry)" gave David his second top ten hit from The Story Goes... and one of his biggest hits to date, tying with number-one single "7 Days" for longest-running single in the UK top 75, spending fifteen weeks on the chart. However, "Don't Love You No More (I'm Sorry)" is his biggest for most consecutive weeks inside the top 75 as "7 Days" had fourteen, before it re-entered for a week. The song was his biggest hit from The Story Goes, peaking at number 4, one place lower than "All the Way", which only spent six weeks inside the top 75.
"Unbelievable" is a song by British singer Craig David. It was written by David, Mark Taylor, and Paul Barry for his third studio album The Story Goes... (2005). The third single from the album, it was rumoured to be a double A-side of fan-favourites, "Hypnotic" and "Johnny", however it was "Unbelievable" that was chosen. It became one of David's smallest hits to date, peaking at number 18 in the UK. The disappointing performance of the song in the UK, where the first two singles charted in the top five, led "Unbelievable" to be the final single from The Story Goes.... The song was slightly remixed for the single release.
Right Now is the debut studio album by Scottish singer Leon Jackson, released on 20 October 2008, via Syco Music and Sony BMG. It was produced by Steve Mac. Jackson described the album as "a mixture in styles of modern jazz with singer-songwriter elements, and a lot of it is really soulful." Right Now received mixed reviews although the single, "Don't Call This Love", which was released as the album's second single in October 2008, entered the UK Singles Chart at number three and the Scottish Singles Charts at number one, where it remained on the top position for two weeks.
"Miss You" is a popular song written by Jake Schulze and Rami Yacoub. It was originally recorded as a ballad, by the Irish boy band Westlife, but was never released as a single. In 2008, it was remade as a dance track by Swedish musician Basshunter becoming a hit single for him as "I Miss You" in 2008, notably in the United Kingdom, Germany and Sweden.
"Don't Tell Me That It's Over" is the first single released from Scottish singer-songwriter Amy Macdonald's second studio album, A Curious Thing, released on 26 February 2010 in Germany and on 1 March 2010 in the United Kingdom. The single was released internationally via Mercury Records, and was a commercial success for Macdonald across European music markets, particularly in Belgium, Germany and Austria where it reached the top ten. In her native Scotland, it reached number twenty one on the official Scottish Singles Chart, and reached number forty eight in the United Kingdom.
"Don't Hold Your Breath" is a song by American singer Nicole Scherzinger, taken from her debut album, Killer Love (2011). The song began as a demo or reference track by American artists Timbaland and Keri Hilson, which leaked online in June 2010. It went through various iterations and versions which leaked ahead of its release in 2011. The final mixed and mastered version of "Don't Hold Your Breath" was released on March 10, 2011, through Interscope Records, preceding its parent album by one week. "Don't Hold Your Breath" was written by a trio of American songwriters: Josh Alexander, Toby Gad, and Billy Steinberg. It is an empowering independence anthem with lyrics that speak of rebuking the advances of an ex-lover, that features a pop and synth-pop production, with electro-pop beats and Eurodance stylings.
