Yumin Abbadini (born 6 May 2001) [1] is an Italian artistic gymnast. He was a member of the Italian team that won its first-ever European Championships title in 2023. He also won a European team silver medal in 2022 and bronze in 2024. Individually, he is the 2024 European all-around bronze medalist and the 2022 Italian all-around champion. He represented Italy at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Abbadini was born in Ranica on 6 May 2001 to an Italian father and a Chinese mother. He is in a relationship with Elisa Iorio, an Olympic and World medalist in gymnastics. [1] [2] As of 2024, he studies computer engineering at the University of Bergamo. [3]
Abbadini competed at the 2018 Junior European Championships and won a bronze medal with the Italian team. This was Italy's first medal at the Junior European Championships since 1992. [4] He also placed 10th in the individual all-around, [5] and he was the second reserve for the horizontal bar final. [6]
Abbadini began competing in senior international competitions in 2019. He won a bronze medal on the pommel horse at the 2019 Guimarães World Challenge Cup. [7]
Abbadini competed at the 2022 DTB Pokal Stuttgart where the Italian men's team won the silver medal behind the United States. [8] Individually, he won the bronze medal on the pommel horse behind Khoi Young and Benjamin Osberger. [9] He also competed in the mixed cup, helping Italy win the bronze medal. [10] He then competed at the European Championships and helped the Italian team win the silver medal behind Great Britain. [11] Individually, Abbadini was the third reserve for the horizontal bar final. [12] In October 2022, he won the all-around title at the Italian national championships. [13]
Abbadini was selected to compete at the World Championships in Liverpool alongside Nicola Bartolini, Lorenzo Minh Casali, Carlo Macchini, and Matteo Levantesi. The team finished fourth by slightly more than one point behind the bronze-medalists, Great Britain, after Abbadini fell off the pommel horse in the final rotation. [14] [15] Individually, Abbadini qualified for the all-around final, where he finished 21st. [16]
At the 2023 European Championships, Abbadini won a team gold medal alongside Mario Macchiati, Lorenzo Minh Casali, Matteo Levantesi, and Marco Lodadio. [17] This marked the first time Italy won a team title at the European Men's Artistic Gymnastics Championships. [18] Abbadini also qualified for the all-around final and finished in sixth place. [19] He also placed sixth in the pommel horse final. [20]
At the World Championships, Abbadini and the Italian team placed sixth in the qualification round and earned a team berth for the 2024 Summer Olympics. This was the first time the Italian men's gymnastics team qualified for the Olympic Games since 2012. [21] This result also meant they qualified for the team final, where Abbadini contributed on four apparatuses toward Italy's eighth-place finish. [22] Individually, Abbadini qualified for the all-around final and finished in sixth place. [23] After the World Championships, he competed at the 2023 Swiss Cup Zürich, a mixed pairs competition, with Manila Esposito, and they finished fourth. [24]
Abbadini began the 2024 Olympic season at the DTB Pokal Stuttgart and helped Italy win the team silver medal behind the United States. Individually, Abbadini won a silver medal on the horizontal bar and a bronze medal on the floor exercise. [25] [26] Then at the European Championships, Abbadini led the Italian team to a bronze medal finish. [27] He also won the bronze medal in the individual all-around behind Marios Georgiou and Oleg Verniaiev. [28] He finished seventh in the horizontal bar final. [29]
Abbadini was selected to compete at the 2024 Summer Olympics alongside Nicola Bartolini, Lorenzo Minh Casali, Mario Macchiati, and Carlo Macchini. [30] In the qualification round, the Italian team finished sixth and qualified for the team final. [31] Abbadini also qualified for the all-around final in eighth place, [32] and he was the first reserve for the horizontal bar final. [33] The Italian team ultimately finished sixth in the team final. [34] Then in the all-around final, Abbadini finished 11th. [35]
Vanessa Ferrari is a retired Italian artistic gymnast. She was the 2006 World All-Around Champion and competed for Italy at the 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020 Summer Olympics, winning a silver medal on floor exercise in 2020. In doing so, Ferrari became the first Italian to win an individual Olympic medal in Women's Artistic Gymnastics, and the first medallist for the Italian women's team since the 1928 Summer Olympics. She is a five-time World medallist and eight-time European medallist, and is currently the most decorated Italian gymnast of all time.

Maellyse Brassart is a Belgian artistic gymnast. She represented Belgium at the 2020 Summer Olympics and the 2024 Summer Olympics. She has competed at five World Championships.
Giorgia Villa is an Italian artistic gymnast. She was a member of the teams that won silver at the 2024 Olympic Games and bronze at the 2019 World Championships. Additionally, she was part of the gold-winning teams at both the 2022 Mediterranean Games and the 2022 European Championships. Individually, she is the 2018, 2020, and 2021 Italian national champion, the 2018 Youth Olympic champion, and the 2018 European junior all-around and beam champion. She is also a member of the Italian national team.
Elisa Iorio is an Italian artistic gymnast. She was a member of the historic teams that won silver at the 2024 Olympic Games and bronze at the 2019 World Championships. Additionally she was part of the gold medal winning team at the 2024 European Championships, where she also won silver on the uneven bars.
Asia D'Amato is an Italian artistic gymnast. She represented Italy at the 2020 Olympic Games. She was a member of the teams that won bronze at the 2019 World Championships and gold at the 2022 European Championships. Individually she is the 2021 World vault silver medalist, the 2022 European all-around champion and vault silver medalist, the 2019 and 2020 Italian national champion, and the 2018 Junior European vault champion. She is a member of the Italian National Team and is the twin sister of Alice D'Amato.
Alice D'Amato is an Italian artistic gymnast. She represented Italy at the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games, she is the Paris 2024 Olympic balance beam Champion. She was a member of the teams that won silver at the 2024 Olympic Games, bronze at the 2019 World Championships and gold at the 2022 and 2024 European Championships. Individually, she is the 2023 and 2024 European champion, 2022 European silver medalist, and 2019 European bronze medalist on the uneven bars. Additionally she is a two-time European all-around medalist. She is the twin sister of Asia D'Amato.
Martina Maggio is an Italian artistic gymnast. She represented Italy at the 2020 Olympic Games. She was a member of the gold medal winning teams at the 2022 Mediterranean Games and the 2022 European Championships. She was also the alternate for the team who won bronze at the 2019 World Championships in Stuttgart. Individually she is the 2022 Mediterranean Games all-around champion, the 2022 European all-around bronze medalist, the 2022 European silver medalist on floor, and 2016 European junior vault champion.
Omar Mohamed Fathy is an Egyptian artistic gymnast. He is a four-time African all-around champion, and he competed at the 2020 and 2024 Summer Olympics.
Angela Andreoli is an Italian artistic gymnast. She was a member of the historic team that won silver at the 2024 Olympic Games. Additionally she was a member of the gold medal-winning teams at the 2022 Mediterranean Games, the 2022 European Championships, and the 2024 European Championships. Individually she is the 2022 Mediterranean Games bronze medalist on vault as well as the 2022 and 2024 European bronze medalist on floor exercise.

Manila Esposito is an Italian artistic gymnast. She was a member of the silver medal winning team at the 2024 Olympic Games where she also won a bronze medal on the balance beam. Additionally she was a member of the gold medal winning team at the 2024 European Championships and silver medal winning team at the 2023 European Championships.
Riccardo Villa is an Italian artistic gymnast. He is the 2023 Junior World all-around bronze medalist.
