Zakariya is an Indian film director, screenwriter, actor and producer who works in Malayalam Films. Hailing from Valanchery, Malappuram, Zakariya is best known for his directorial debut Sudani from Nigeria, [2] which won several awards and accolades. [3] His second directorial feature was Halal Love Story . [4]

Personal life

He is a postgraduate in Mass Communication and Journalism from SAFI Institute of Advanced Study, Vazhayur. and worked as an assistant professor in MediaOne Academy at Calicut. He started his career as an Assistant Director in an Advertising production house, TVC Factory, Cochin, Kerala. [5]

Sudani from Nigeria is a 2018 Indian Malayalam-language sports drama film written and directed by Zakariya Mohammed, with dialogues co-written by Muhsin Parari. Shyju Khalid was the cinematographer, who also produced the film with Sameer Thahir. It stars Soubin Shahir, with Samuel Abiola Robinson as the titular character. The story is about the bond between Samuel, Nigerian football player who joins a club in Malappuram, Kerala for a sevens football tournament and Majeed, Samuel's malayali football coach, who take care of him after he got a leg fracture.

Ee.Ma.Yau is a 2018 Indian Malayalam-language independent tragedy film directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery and written by P. F. Mathews. It stars Vinayakan, Chemban Vinod Jose, Pauly Valsan, Bitto Davis, Kainakary Thankaraj, Dileesh Pothan and Arya Salim in the main roles. The film had its premiere on 30 November 2017 and was theatrically released on 4 May 2018. The film revolves around the death and funeral of an older man from the Latin Catholic community in Chellanam, Ernakulam district. Lijo Jose Pellissery won the Best Director Award at the 48th Kerala State Film Awards for Ee.Ma.Yau. Aravindante Athidhikal is a 2018 Indian Malayalam-language comedy-drama film directed by M. The award comprises Rs. 25,000, a memento and a citation. The award is facilitated by Kerala Chalachitra Film Society. The award is presented on March 15 every year on the death anniversary of Aravindan, who is considered one of the pioneers of parallel cinema in Malayalam.
