Zea Abad, (Grid Station Thathri or Madan Chittar) is a village in Thathri sub division of Doda district. It is the part of panchayat Jangalwar located on the Batote-Kishtwar National Highway. [1]
Zea Abad is located on Batote-Kishtwar National Highway bordering Thathri town on its east.
Zea Abad was part of Thathri until that town became a town in 2011. This village had paddy fields in the past that belonged to a person with the name Madan; that is why it was known as Madan Khait or Madan Chittar. When an electricity receiving station for Thathri was built here, it became popular with the name "Grid Station Thathri." [2]
Zea Abad village is located in Phagsoo tehsil (earlier Thathri). There was only single government school in this village known as Govt Primary School Zea Abad which was closed in 2013. [3] [4]

Dul Hasti is a 390 MW hydroelectric power plant in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, India built by NHPC. The power plant is a run-of-the-river type on the Chenab River, in a rugged, mountainous section of the Himalayas, and several hundred kilometers from larger cities in the Jammu Division. It consists of a 70 m (230 ft) tall gravity dam which diverts water through a 9.5 km (5.9 mi) long headrace tunnel to the power station which discharges back into the Chenab. The project provides peaking power to the Northern Grid with beneficiary states being Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Delhi and Union Territory of Chandigarh. It was constructed between 1985 and 2007.
The 2013 Kishtwar Riots, which claimed three lives and injured 80, was a conflict between Muslim and Hindu communities in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir. The riots occurred in the aftermath of the Eid festival on 9 August 2013, and provoked a significant government lockdown in the Jammu region. Despite that, the government was criticized for not preventing the riots.
Chenab Valley is a loosely-defined controversial term sometimes used to refer to parts of the Jammu Division in Jammu and Kashmir, India. The term is used to refer to the present-day districts of Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, and, at times, Reasi and parts of Udhampur and Kathua. The first three districts used to be part of a single former district called Doda, which was created in 1948 out of the eastern parts of Udhampur district of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, and are sometimes collectively referred to as the Doda belt. The term is seen to be aimed at a communal break-up of the Jammu Division and iteration of Kashmiri Muslim irredentism.

Bimal Nag is a hill station situated on a large meadow in the Saroor region of Drabshalla tehsil in Kishtwar district in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The area is covered in pine. Water has collected from a nearby natural spring to form a small pond in front of the Bimal Nag Temple, an ancient Hindu temple on the west side of the meadows called Bimal Nag. In 2013, roads were constructed in the area in an effort to increase connectivity in the rural areas of India by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

On 1 February 2023, a land subsidence event developed in the town of Thathri in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, India, resulting in 23 structures being declared unsafe and approximately 300 people being displaced. The event has been described by geological experts as a multifactor landsliding. Buildings impacted include several houses, a mosque, a religious school for girls, and a cricket academy. As of 9 February 2023, a massive landsliding was reported at Nayi Basti which blocked National Highway 244 for hours. As of 23 March 2023, the incident spot is declared as "not habitable" by Geological Survey of India report.
