Zepter International is a Swiss consumer goods enterprise, which produces, sells and distributes consumer goods through direct sales and through stores. Zepter's products are manufactured in eight Zepter factories based in Germany, Italy, Switzerland. It was established in Linz, Austria in 1986 by its founder Philip Zepter. [1]

History

In the 1980s, Philip Zepter along with his wife left Belgrade and moved to Austria. [2] There, Zepter worked as distributor of German kitchen utensil manufacturer "AMC International AG" and soon became one of the company's executives. After five years of working in "AMC International AG", he invented special utensil cover and patented as "Zepter utensils". [2] In 1986, Zepter along with his wife founded "Zepter International" and in the following years made a breakthrough in the market. [2]

Zepter International began distributing worldwide stainless steel cookware and tableware accessories, manufactured in its own plant in Milan, Italy since 1990. [2] In 1996, Zepter Group acquired two companies, based in Switzerland, and thus branched out into the markets of light therapy medical devices (by the purchase of Bioptron AG, Wollerau and cosmetics (through Intercosmetica Neuchâtel SA, Neuchâtel).

After these investments the company's headquarters moved to Switzerland. Later on "Zepter Finance Holding AG" was established, providing services in the fields of private pensions, health care, insurance and property. As of 2016, "Zepter International" has operations in more than 60 countries worldwide. [1] In June 2017, the company celebrated its 30-year anniversary. [3]

As of 2024, the key product lines offered by Zepter International include Health, Optics, Kitchenware, Homeware and Fashion.

Sponsorship

Zepter were a prominent sports sponsor in the late 1990s into the early 2000s. In Formula One, Zepter were a partner of Arrows F1 Team and Jordan Grand Prix, alongside sponsorship of the Monaco, Brazil and Canadian Grand Prix. Elsewhere in motorsports, the company supported Serbian racing drivers through the Zepter Racing project, providing opportunities for drivers such as Andrej Kulundžić, Andrej Pavicevic, and Milovan Vesnić to compete in international racing series. Furthermore, Zepter sponsored the F1 Powerboat World Championship from 2000-2009, the Ice Hockey World Championship from 1999-2010, were an official partner of FIBA from 2003-2011 and sponsored a variety of tennis tournaments, including the Monte Carlo Masters, between 1997 and 1999. Scuderia Ferrari, currently racing under Scuderia Ferrari HP, is the racing division of luxury Italian auto manufacturer Ferrari and the racing team that competes in Formula One racing. The team is also known by the nickname "The Prancing Horse", in reference to their logo. It is the oldest surviving and most successful Formula One team, having competed in every world championship since 1950.

The Tyrrell Racing Organisation was an auto racing team and Formula One constructor founded by Ken Tyrrell (1924–2001) which started racing in 1958 and started building its own cars in 1970. The team experienced its greatest success in the early 1970s, when it won three Drivers' Championships and one Constructors' Championship with Jackie Stewart. The team never reached such heights again, although it continued to win races through the 1970s and into the early 1980s, taking the final win for the Ford Cosworth DFV engine at the 1983 Detroit Grand Prix. The team was bought by British American Tobacco in 1997 and completed its final season as Tyrrell in the 1998 Formula One season. Tyrrell's legacy continues in Formula One as the Mercedes-AMG F1 team, who is Tyrrell's descendant through various sales and rebrandings via BAR, Honda, and Brawn GP.

Simtek was an engineering consultancy firm and Formula One racing team. The Formula One (F1) engineering consultancy arm, Simtek Research, was founded in 1989 by Max Mosley and Nick Wirth. Brawn GP was a Formula One constructor which competed in the 2009 Formula One World Championship, with drivers Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello. The team was formed in 2009 by a management buyout led by Ross Brawn of the Honda Racing F1 Team, after Honda announced their withdrawal from the sport in December 2008 due to the global financial crisis. The team started development of their car in early 2008, when still owned by Honda. For the 2009 season, Honda provided a $100 million budget, while Mercedes provided engines under a customer relationship.

Mercedes-Benz, a German luxury automotive brand of the Mercedes-Benz Group, has been involved in Formula One as both team owner and engine manufacturer for various periods since 1954. The current Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team is based in Brackley, England, and holds a German racing licence. An announcement was made in December 2020 that Ineos planned to take a one third equal ownership stake alongside the Mercedes-Benz Group and Toto Wolff; this came into effect on 25 January 2022. Mercedes-branded teams are often referred to by the nickname, the "Silver Arrows".

Haas Formula LLC, competing as MoneyGram Haas F1 Team, is an American-licensed Formula One racing team established by NASCAR Cup Series team owner Gene Haas in April 2014. The team originally intended to make its debut at the start of the 2015 season but later elected to postpone their entry until the 2016 season. The team principal is Ayao Komatsu, who replaced Guenther Steiner who served in the role from the team's inception until January 2024.
