Zhengzhou BRT Route B2 is a bus rapid transit route operated by Zhengzhou Bus. It is the 2nd route with dedicated bus lanes in Zhengzhou BRT.

History

The route was commenced on 26 January 2014, operating on Changchun Road, Lianhua Street, Ruida Road, Huagong Road, Rantun Road and Nongye Road. [1]

Due to the construction of Nongye Expressway, the route was diverted from Nongye Road to Dongfeng Road on 21 July 2015. [2] After the completion of Nongye Expressway with new island platforms under the elevated highway, the east section of the route returned to Nongye Road on 26 May 2017. [3]

In 2019, trolleybus overhead wires were installed under the Nongye Elevated for conversion of B2 to an eBRT corridor, preparing for the return of trolleybuses to Zhengzhou. [4] [5] Trolleybus operation in service began on 1 January 2021. [6]

The west terminus of the route is Daxie bus terminus in the high-tech zone in northwestern Zhengzhou, and the east terminus is Zhongzhou Avenue and Nongye Road station near Zhengdong New Area.

Central Plains Metropolitan Region intercity railway system is a network of 14 regional high-speed railways radiating or surrounding the city of Zhengzhou, Henan province, China. It is a plan for the gradual implementation of a regional rail system across the province. The system involves Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Kaifeng, Xinxiang, Jiaozuo, Xuchang, Pingdingshan, Luohe and Jiyuan, it aims to form a convenient, fast, safe and efficient intercity rail transportation network. In September 2009, the National Development and Reform Commission produced the "Central Plains Metropolitan Intercity Rail Transit Network Plan (2009–2020)", calling for the planning and construction of approximately 496 km of the total mileage across the regional high speed transit network. The vision is for greater transport opportunities and ultimately the formation of Zhengzhou as the urban centre, with Luoyang as a secondary urban centre, after connecting the major urban areas in the Central Plains urban agglomeration.
