The 2016 Russian Circuit Racing Series was the third season of the Russian Circuit Racing Series, organized by SMP Racing. It was the second season with TCR class cars, competing alongside the Super 2000 TC2 and the Super Production cars.

The 2016 schedule was announced on 11 November 2015, with all events scheduled to be held in Russia. [8] Updated on 10 March. [9] 21 July announced that due to the reconstruction of ADM Raceway stage 6 moved to Smolenskring. [10]

Moscow Raceway is an FIA-approved motor racing venue, which is situated in the Volokolamsky District of Moscow Oblast, near the villages of Sheludkovo and Fedyukovo, 97 km (60 mi) from Moscow, Russia. It opened on 13 July 2012 for its first event as the fifth round of the World Series by Renault becoming the first major international motor-sport race track event in Russia. It is an FIA Grade 1 circuit, which means that it has all the requirements necessary to host a Formula One race, though the Sochi Autodrom formerly hosted Russian Formula One races during the existence of the Russian Grand Prix as a World Championship event.

The 2015 TCR International Series was the inaugural season of the TCR International Series, a motor racing championship for touring cars held across Asia and Europe. The season began at Sepang on 28 March and finished on 22 November at the Guia Circuit in Macau.

The 2015 Russian Circuit Racing Series season was the second season of the Russian Circuit Racing Series, organized by SMP Racing. It was the first season with TCR class cars, competing alongside the Super 2000 TC2 and the Super Production cars. It is also included Touring Light, National and Junior's championships, with all of them have their own races during the RCRS weekends. Aleksey Dudukalo won the drivers' championship, driving a SEAT Leon Cup Racer, and Lukoil Racing Team won the teams' championship.

Narasak Ittiritpong is a Thai racing driver currently competing in the TCR International Series and TCR Thailand Touring Car Championship. Having previously competed in the Thailand Super Series, Thai Rally Championship and Thai Honda Civic Racing Festival amongst others.

The 2017 SMP Russian Circuit Racing Series was the fourth season of the Russian Circuit Racing Series, organized by SMP Racing. It was the third season with TCR class cars, competing alongside the Super 2000 TC2 cars.

The 2018 FIA World Touring Car Cup was the inaugural season of the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR). It took over from the World Touring Car Championship and adopted the TCR technical regulations. It was also the 14th overall season of the series that dates from the 2005 World Touring Car Championship. The change of name and new rules follow the declining interest in the TC1 regulations used by the World Touring Car Championship between 2014 and 2017 and the growing interest among manufacturers in the TCR touring car category.

The 2018 SMP Russian Circuit Racing Series was the fifth season of the Russian Circuit Racing Series, organized by SMP Racing. It was the fourth season with TCR class cars.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">TCR Touring Car</span> Touring car racing specification

A TCR Touring Car is a touring car specification, first introduced in 2014 and is now employed by a multitude of series worldwide. All TCR Touring Cars are front-wheel drive cars based on 4 or 5 door production vehicles, and are powered by 1.75 to 2.0 litre turbocharged engines. While the bodyshell and suspension layout of the production vehicle is retained in a TCR car, and many models use a production gearbox, certain accommodations are made for the stresses of the racetrack including upgraded brakes and aerodynamics. Competition vehicles are subject to Balance of Performance adjustments to ensure close racing between different vehicles.

Timur Irekovich Boguslavskiy is a professional racing driver from Russia, currently competing in GT World Challenge Europe with AKKA ASP. Driving a Mercedes-AMG GT3, Boguslavskiy won the overall series championship in 2020.

Dmitry Aleksandrovich Bragin is a Russian racing driver currently racing in the Russian Circuit Racing Series. As one of the most decorated racing drivers in his country, he has managed to become a champion in almost all leading motorsport disciplines with 14 championship titles. He is the Russian champion in autocross at (2002), rallycross, rallying (2008-2009), touring car, and winter track racing (2017). He also competed in the European Touring Car Cup, winning the single-makes trophy in 2014.

The 2020 SMP Russian Circuit Racing Series was the seventh season of the Russian Circuit Racing Series, organized by SMP Racing. It was the sixth season with TCR class cars. In 2020, the GT4 and CN classes were added to the main Touring, Touring Light, Super Production and S1600 classes.
