Local elections were held in Greece on 26 May 2019 (first round) and 2 June 2019 (second round). Voters elected representatives to the country's local authorities, comprising 13 regions and 325 municipalities. New Democracy dominated the elections, winning 12 out of 13 Regions and 2 out of 3 biggest municipalities per population in the country. [1] SYRIZA lost all the Regions that it had won in 2014. New Democracy is a liberal-conservative political party in Greece. In contemporary Greek politics, New Democracy has been the main centre-right political party and one of the two major parties along with its historic rival, the Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK). New Democracy and PASOK were created in the wake of the toppling of the military junta in 1974, and ruled Greece alternately for the next four decades. Following the electoral decline of PASOK, New Democracy remained one of the two major parties in Greece, the other being the Coalition of the Radical Left (SYRIZA). The party was founded in 1974 by Konstantinos Karamanlis and in the same year it formed the first cabinet of the Third Hellenic Republic. New Democracy is a member of the European People's Party, the largest European political party since 1999, the Centrist Democrat International, and the International Democrat Union.

The Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union is a green-conservative and agrarian political party in Lithuania led by Ramūnas Karbauskis. Dimitris Avramopoulos is a Greek politician of the conservative New Democracy party, and former career diplomat. He has served in various high-level cabinet posts, including Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for National Defence, and was Mayor of Athens in 1995–2002. He served as EU Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship in the Juncker Commission between 2014 and 2019.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis is a Greek politician who has been serving as the prime minister of Greece from June 2023. He was also the prime minister of Greece from July 2019 to May 2023. On 25 June 2023, Mitsotakis won a second term as prime minister after a historic victory for his New Democracy party, for which he has served as president since 2016. Mitsotakis previously was Leader of the Opposition from 2016 to 2019, and Minister of Administrative Reform from 2013 to 2015. He is the son of the late Konstantinos Mitsotakis, who served as Prime Minister of Greece from 1990 to 1993. He was first elected to the Hellenic Parliament for the Athens B constituency in 2004. After New Democracy suffered two election defeats in 2015, he was elected the party's leader in January 2016. Three years later, he led his party to a majority in the 2019 Greek legislative election.

Konstadinos "Kostas" Koukodimos is a retired Greek long jumper and New Democracy politician, currently serving as the mayor of Katerini, Macedonia. He was named the 1991 Greek Male Athlete of the Year. His family has hails from Agios Dimitrios, Pieria.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2020–21 Nigerien general election</span>

General elections were held in Niger on 27 December 2020 to elect the President and National Assembly. With incumbent president Mahamadou Issoufou stepping down following his two terms constitutional limit, new presidential candidates competed for office. As no presidential candidate received a majority of the vote on the first round, a second round was held on 21 February 2021. The ruling Nigerien Party for Democracy and Socialism (PNDS) candidate Mohamed Bazoum was declared the winner, beating Mahamane Ousmane in the second round with 56% of the vote. In the National Assembly elections the PNDS won 79 of the 166 seats, falling just short of a majority.
