The Indian state of Madhya Pradesh has two central universities, sixteen state universities, [note 1] three deemed universities, twenty private university three institutes of national importance, including an IIT. All India Institute of Medical Sciences and an NIT. The state also has an IIM and an IISER and Two NLUs.

The Department of Higher Education under Ministry of Human Resource Development lists 81 centrally funded institutes [1] and 42 central universities. [2] Two central universities, two regional centres of IGNOU (in Jabalpur and Bhopal), and eight centrally funded institutes are located in Madhya Pradesh.

University

As of August 2011, UGC recognizes fifteen state universities in Madhya Pradesh, [3] of which eleven universities receive financial assistance from central government and UGC in addition to Madhya Pradesh state government. Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (RVSKVV) was bifurcated from Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University by an act of the Madhya Pradesh government. [24] While it is not listed by the UGC as a separate university, it is listed by the ICAR.

Ujjain or Ujjayinī is a city in Ujjain district of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is the fifth-largest city in Madhya Pradesh by population and is the administrative centre of Ujjain district and Ujjain division. Vijaya Raje Scindia, born Lekha Divyeshwari Devi in Nepal and known popularly as the Rajmata of Gwalior in India, was a prominent Indian political personality. In the days of the British Raj, as consort of the last ruling Maharaja of Gwalior, Jivajirao Scindia, she ranked among the highest royal figures of the land. In later life, she became a politician of considerable influence and was elected repeatedly to both houses of the Indian parliament. She was one of the founding members of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh.

Waraseoni is a tehsil and Nagar Palika Parishad (municipality) in Balaghat district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is situated 16 km (10 mi) from the district headquarters. Waraseoni is second most populous town in Balaghat District after Balaghat.

Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Airport, also known as Gwalior Airport, is a domestic airport and an Indian Air Force base serving the city of Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India. It is located in Maharajpur, 10 km north-east of the city premises. It is one of the six airports in Madhya Pradesh. The airport is spread over an area of 760 acres. The civil enclave is built on 29 acres of area. IndiGo and SpiceJet airlines operate scheduled flight services to and from the airport. It is named after Vijaya Raje Scindia, the former Maharani of Gwalior and a prominent Member of Parliament.

As per RVSKVV act, the horticulture and veterinary science & animal husbandry. The research activities are operated through five Zonal Agricultural Research Stations ; four Regional Agricultural Research Stations and 4 special research stations having 22 All India Coordinated Research Projects and several adhoc projects to enhance the productivity and profitability of agriculture system. Transfer of technology is the part of extension activities carried out by 21 Krishi Vigyan Kendras.'

College of Dairy Science and Food Technology, Raipur is a constituent college of Chhattisgarh Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya. It was established in 1983 under the jurisdiction of Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur. The College is the only Institute of its kind in Chhattisgarh. This college is spread in area of approximately 12 acres.

Vikram Award is an award given by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, India, for outstanding performance in national and international competitions or contribution in the field of sports. The Vikram Award was instituted on May 15, 1990, with a purpose to acknowledge outstanding individual sporting achievements in events such as the Olympic Games, Asian Games, and National Games of India. It is the highest sports award in Madhya Pradesh, granted to athletes who are residents of the state and have competed in national and international senior-level competitions for a minimum of two years within the past five years. The award includes a cash prize of ₹1,00000, along with a blazer, tie, and certificate, presented by the Madhya Pradesh Government through the Madhya Pradesh Sports Authority. Provisions exist for offering government jobs to Vikram Awardees in Class III and IV category positions.
